World of Warcraft has just enhanced the Earthen race with a new racial ability named Quiet Contemplation. This addition allows Earthen to regenerate their health and mana outside of combat, effectively providing the benefits of eating and drinking without the traditional methods.
The Earthen, the latest allied race introduced in The War Within, are stone-like relatives of the Dwarves. Players can unlock this new race for both the Alliance and Horde by completing the campaign and several sidequests in The War Within. The Earthen come equipped with unique racial abilities, such as Ingest Minerals, which offers the Well Fed buff but doesn’t allow traditional health or mana recovery through food and drink.
To address this limitation, World of Warcraft has now added Quiet Contemplation. Implemented in a hotfix on September 10, this new ability lets Earthen sit down and meditate, gradually restoring their health and mana as if they were consuming food and drink. This feature is particularly beneficial for classes that lack effective out-of-combat healing or mana recovery options.
Quiet Contemplation does not have a cooldown, and its restorative effects scale with the character's level, making it valuable for both new and max-level characters in The War Within. This ability functions similarly to an endless supply of Mage food, catering to Earthen characters across all classes.
Prior to this update, World of Warcraft explored alternative solutions for the Earthen’s recovery issues, including rock candy consumables and recovery at Brann’s campfire during Delves. Quiet Contemplation proves to be an effective fix, especially with the impending Mythic+ dungeons in WoW: The War Within Season 1. It ensures Earthen players can recover their resources efficiently and contribute fully to their teams without hindering progress.
In addition to Quiet Contemplation, Earthen possess a robust array of racial abilities, including a powerful Empowered ability, a bonus to Finesse for gatherers, increased Armor, and extra experience from exploration. These attributes make them a formidable choice for new characters, regardless of playstyle. If you haven’t unlocked the Earthen yet, now is a great time to consider them for your next adventure in Azeroth.
