The new Delve feature introduced in The War Within has quickly gained popularity among players, largely due to its incredible potential for gearing up. While standard Delves offer two chests with basic equipment at the end, Bountiful Delves take it a step further, presenting a chest with higher iLvl gear. However, if you want to unlock the best loot, you’ll need to get your hands on the elusive Delver’s Bounty Maps.
These maps are rare items that can only be found under specific conditions during a Delve and have become highly coveted. This is because the Hidden Trove they reveal offers some of the highest-tier gear in The War Within. But getting a Delver’s Bounty Map requires following certain steps.
Delver’s Bounty Maps are new Epic Consumables in The War Within that play a vital role in unlocking additional high-level rewards during Bountiful Delves. When you acquire one, it becomes automatically attuned to your current Delve Tier. Upon completing the next Delve at that Tier (or higher), you’ll unlock an extra reward at the end.
Once consumed, your character will receive a Buff that remains active through death, applying to the next Delve you attempt at the appropriate Tier. When you successfully finish that Delve, a special chest called the Hidden Trove will appear alongside the regular rewards.
In Bountiful Delves, the Treasure Room always contains a Bountiful Coffer, which can be unlocked with a Restored Coffer Key to provide gear scaled to the Delve Tier. However, the Hidden Trove takes things further, offering superior gear in the iLvl 600-610 range for Tiers 7 and 8. It also guarantees Harbinger Crests, curio items for customizing Brann’s loadout, and additional in-game currencies.
To obtain a Delver’s Bounty Map, players need to complete a Bountiful Delve on any difficulty and open one of the two regular reward chests at the end. It’s important to note that the Bountiful Coffer is not the key to getting a map—only the standard reward chests can drop this rare item. However, the drop rate for these maps is extremely low, so you may need to complete multiple Bountiful Delves before you get lucky.
There’s another way to get a Delver’s Bounty Map, although it involves a bit of chance. If you don’t obtain one from your daily Bountiful Delves, you may still have a shot if you’re caught by Zekvir, a random encounter in higher-tier Delves. Surviving the attack isn’t required—just completing the Delve afterward gives you a chance to find a Delver’s Bounty Map in the final reward chests.
In The War Within, you’re limited to collecting three Delver’s Bounty Maps per character each week. To maximize your chances of obtaining the best gear, consider leveling up your Delve Tiers with an alternate character first. If they discover any Delver’s Bounty Maps on the way to Tier 8, the rewards will scale to the Tier at which the map was found, rather than automatically adjusting to Tier 8.
Then, once your main character is ready to jump into Tier 8 Delves, they’ll have a better chance of obtaining the highest Tier Delver’s Bounty Maps and unlocking the best possible gear.
