To commemorate its upcoming 20th anniversary, World of Warcraft is resurrecting classic rewards that have been absent for years, including fan-favorite items like the Obsidian Worldbreaker mount. These collectibles have not been available since their original anniversary celebrations, marking a significant return for some of them after a 16-year hiatus.

The milestone anniversary of World of Warcraft will take place on November 23. In celebration, the game is hosting one of its largest in-game events to date, featuring exciting new content such as a revamped Blackrock Depths raid, the Codex of Chromie scenario, and the introduction of Classic Timewalking. Players can expect to earn a variety of fantastic cosmetics from this event, including updated versions of the iconic Tier 2 armor sets.

Many of the rewards being reintroduced have been inaccessible for over a decade. Blizzard has a history of giving out complimentary items during major anniversaries, such as the Molten Corgi for the game's 10th anniversary and the Obsidian Worldbreaker for its 15th. Once these events concluded, those items became unobtainable. Now, they, along with nearly every other anniversary reward from the past, will be available through a special vendor in exchange for Bronze Celebration Tokens.

Most of the items available are from the 5th, 10th, and 15th anniversaries, meaning they haven't been accessible in at least five years. Notably, the Baby Blizzard Bear pet, originally offered for the game’s fourth anniversary, hasn't been seen for 16 years. Players can acquire both mounts for just 20 Bronze Celebration Tokens—only a quarter of the cost of a single Tier 2 set—making it easy for fans to collect all the anniversary items they might have missed. However, the Lil’ Frostwing pet and Azure Worldchiller mount from the 19th anniversary won't be available at this vendor, though they may be obtainable through other methods during the event.

Fans are thrilled to have another opportunity to earn these rewards. With World of Warcraft's long history, some current players may have been infants when these anniversaries first occurred. This reintroduction helps alleviate the fear of missing out (FOMO), which is crucial in the MMORPG community.

According to the calendar on the Public Test Realm (PTR), the 20th anniversary event is scheduled to run from October 22 to January 7, providing players with 77 days to partake in the festivities. Be sure to collect these anniversary rewards during the celebration; it could be years before they're available again!
