Genshin Impact is gearing up to introduce a brand-new region, Ochkanatlan, in its upcoming Version 5.2 update, with a recent leak revealing details about the size and layout of this map expansion. While Version 5.1 will primarily focus on the Archon Quest, players can expect two exciting new areas in Natlan to roll out over the following updates. Notably, the Flowerfeather Clan and the Masters of the Night Wind are set to make their grand entrance in Version 5.2, unlocking the highly anticipated Natlan reputation glider.
Alongside this map expansion, two new characters will also be arriving in Version 5.2. Representing the Masters of the Night Wind, Ororon is designed as a 4-Star Electro Support character, offering significant buffs to the Electro-Charged reaction while dealing off-field damage. Chasca, on the other hand, hails from the Flowerfeather Clan and will serve as a powerful 5-Star Anemo Hypercarry, capable of unleashing a range of elemental attacks based on her team composition. Both characters will come equipped with exploration abilities tied to their respective tribe's Saurian, offering players new ways to navigate the upcoming areas.
According to the insights provided by Uncle Teyvat, the new Natlan map expansion in Version 5.2 will introduce three distinct regions: Warped Branch Cliff, Mirror Wall Mountain, and Ochkanatlan. Given that the emblem of the Masters of the Night Wind is a twisted tree, it's likely that Warped Branch Cliff and Mirror Wall Mountain will house the settlements of these two new tribes. Meanwhile, Ochkanatlan stands out as an ancient civilization that existed long before modern Natlan and is expected to play a central role in the game's upcoming World Quests.
The shape of the expanded zone aligns perfectly with recent topographical leaks of Natlan, hinting at the future addition of the legendary Mare Jivari as another playable area. While Mare Jivari isn't expected to appear in Version 5.2, this update will still extend the playable map significantly to the northwest.
Warped Branch Cliff will connect directly to the Stadium of the Sacred Flame from its western boundary, while Mirror Wall Mountain will serve as a bridge between Ochkanatlan and Huitzli Hill. The rugged landscape of Ochkanatlan suggests that players will need to utilize the unique exploration skills of the two new Saurians to access the ancient ruins of Cinder City.
With Genshin Impact Version 5.2 slated for a November 20, 2024 release, players have ample time to gather Primogems and delve into Natlan’s current territories. These resources will be crucial for securing Chasca and Ororon when they debut on the Event Banners. Additionally, exploring the new zones will earn players extra Primogems, thanks to a revamped reward structure in the game. Each newly introduced region in Version 5.2 will offer up to 400 Primogems to players who hit specific exploration milestones during the first two updates following its launch.
What’s Next for Genshin Impact Players?
As excitement builds for the arrival of Ochkanatlan, it's clear that Genshin Impact is set to deliver another thrilling expansion packed with fresh content, characters, and rewards. The introduction of these new regions and tribes promises to deepen the lore and gameplay experience, giving fans plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more updates as Version 5.2 draws closer, and make sure you’re prepared to dive into Natlan's untamed wilderness!
