A recent leak from Genshin Impact suggests an exciting map expansion for the Natlan region, potentially unveiling a long-speculated area within Teyvat. The latest region in HoYoverse’s RPG has already introduced players to diverse landscapes, ranging from swift rivers and winding valleys to lava-filled volcanic terrains.
The arrival of Natlan has also brought new traversal options, featuring unique movement mechanics tied to Nightsoul Blessing and Natlan’s Saurian mounts. Now, hints are emerging about a possible new location within Natlan.
Throughout its four-year journey, Genshin Impact has teased numerous locations beyond the current playable area in Teyvat. One of the most discussed locations is Dornman Port, a rumored port town situated north of Mondstadt, near the Snezhnaya border.
Chenyu Vale also generated buzz before its introduction in the Liyue sub-area during the Version 4.4 update. Now, a new leak appears to hint at an area that has been speculated since the game’s inception.
Leaker UTeyvat recently shared an update hinting at a new area in the northwest of Natlan's mainland. The leak features an overhead map zoomed out to show Natlan’s playable landscape, with a specific water-bound area circled, indicating a forthcoming expansion.
While UTeyvat didn’t reveal details about what this new area may include, fans are speculating that it could be home to the long-awaited Mare Jivari. However, the leak does not provide a timeline for when this new area might be added to Genshin Impact.
The potential inclusion of Mare Jivari in the game is notable since this enigmatic location has been referenced several times within the lore. Early mentions include Anemo Archon Venti’s Story Quest, which recounts the tale of famed Mondstadt adventurer Stanley’s demise there.
Additionally, Mare Jivari is cited in the lore of various artifacts, including the Wanderer’s Troupe and Lavawalker sets, both linked to this mysterious region. As speculation grows about Mare Jivari, Genshin Impact’s latest region has already seen multiple teasers for future expansions. HoYoverse has confirmed that Version 5.1 will introduce more of Natlan’s tribes, including the Pyro Flower-Feather Clan and the Anemo Masters of the Night-Wind.
Moreover, leaks suggest the arrival of the Electro-themed Collective of Plenty in the upcoming Version 5.2 update. Genshin Impact fans can look forward to a wealth of new content in Natlan as the game progresses through its next updates.
