Star Wars Outlaws: Release Date Confirmed for Wild Card Expansion and Free DLC

The much-anticipated Star Wars Outlaws expansion, centered around Lando Calrissian, titled "Wild Card," finally has a confirmed release date. Additionally, players can look forward to some exciting free content. Released in late August 2024 by Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment, Star Wars Outlaws allows players to delve into the criminal underworld of the Outer Rim, stepping into the shoes of aspiring scoundrel Kay Vess and her growing band of misfits. While the game received predominantly favorable reviews, Ubisoft has noted that it has not met the publisher's sales expectations.

Despite this, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment remain committed to enriching the already expansive world of Star Wars Outlaws with story-driven downloadable content. The initial release featured a side mission involving Kay’s droid companion, ND-5, as he attempted to repay a debt to the notorious gangster Jabba the Hutt. However, this content faced criticism for being locked behind the game's Season Pass from day one. There are at least two additional DLC expansions in the pipeline for Star Wars Outlaws, titled “Wild Card” and “A Pirate’s Fortune.”

Ubisoft has officially announced that the Wild Card DLC will be released on November 21. In this expansion, players will team up with the legendary Lando Calrissian to infiltrate a high-stakes Sabacc tournament. Alongside this new narrative adventure, Ubisoft has confirmed that all Star Wars Outlaws players will receive free content on the same day in the form of new Contract missions.

Release Date for Star Wars Outlaws Wild Card DLC

Lando Calrissian makes an appearance in the base game of Star Wars Outlaws as an Expert who can provide Kay with new abilities through a specific side quest. Players first encounter the iconic gambler on Akiva, where aiding him in retrieving his lucky Sabacc token unlocks a new skill tree focused on card games and stealth. The storyline of Star Wars Outlaws unfolds between Lando's regretful betrayal of Han Solo in The Empire Strikes Back and his role in rescuing Han from Jabba at the start of Return of the Jedi.

Fans can expect to see Lando Calrissian in action when the Wild Card DLC launches on November 21. Coincidentally, this date also marks the release of Star Wars Outlaws on Steam, a move Ubisoft hopes will help improve the game’s current sales performance. While details about the second DLC pack, “A Pirate’s Fortune,” remain scarce, it has been confirmed that it will feature the beloved pirate captain Hondo Ohnaka and is slated for release in the spring of 2025.
