After weeks of anticipation and teasers, Embark Studios has officially launched the much-awaited Season 4 update for The Finals. Players can now download the patch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, which introduces a wealth of exciting new content, including a brand-new stadium, three new weapons, a gameplay feature, and much more.
Among the myriad additions, the standout highlight of Season 4 is the introduction of the new sponsor system. Players will now have the opportunity to align themselves with one of three fresh sponsors: HOLTOW, ENGIMO, or ISEUL-T. It's essential to make this choice wisely, as players can only select their sponsor once and will be locked into that decision for the season. Each sponsor offers unique rewards that can be unlocked by completing contracts, allowing players to accumulate fans and earn even more benefits.
In addition to the sponsor feature, Season 4 introduces a trio of new weapons for players to experiment with. The first is the .50 Akimbo, a powerful pistol available exclusively to the heavy class. Next, medium-class users can wield the Pike-556 marksman rifle, while light-class players gain access to the new pump-action shotgun, the M26 Matter.
Existing weapon balance is also a focus in this update, with adjustments made to various firearms, including the 93R, AKM, CL-40, Dagger, and Lewis Gun. Notably, some weapons will receive nerfs, such as a reduction in magazine size for the AKM, while others, like the Lewis Gun, will be buffed with improved recoil control.
The update also introduces a new battleground for players to wreak havoc on: Fortune Stadium. This new map features a streamlined urban layout, complete with distinct sectors dedicated to each of Season 4's sponsors and several vertically-oriented areas for dynamic gameplay. As players engage in combat within Fortune Stadium, they’ll notice the vibrant colors of the three sponsors prominently displayed throughout the arena.
The official patch notes detail a comprehensive list of bug fixes and balance changes included in the September 26 update for The Finals. Whether on console or PC, players will benefit from various enhancements to audio, modes, maps, matchmaking, movement, and more, ensuring a seamless gameplay experience as they dive into the new content.
