Fans of Star Wars Outlaws can look forward to a major improvement soon, as creative director Julian Gerighty has confirmed a new update aimed at addressing the game's challenging stealth missions. The game, developed by Massive Entertainment, has yet to reach the heights of other Star Wars titles like the Jedi series. However, despite its rocky start, Star Wars Outlaws continues to evolve, with updates designed to enhance the overall player experience.

Set in the expansive Star Wars universe, Outlaws allows players to embrace their inner rogue, with its story and gameplay heavily inspired by the classic movie trilogy. But despite the game's rich premise, it has faced some hurdles, including a less-than-perfect launch that even caused Ubisoft's stock to dip by 10% just days after the game's release. However, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment remain committed to refining the game, listening closely to player feedback to identify and improve underperforming mechanics.

Fixing Stealth Missions in Star Wars Outlaws

In a recent interview, Gerighty discussed the game’s reception and hinted at upcoming changes. One key issue the team is addressing revolves around the stealth missions on Mirogana, which have been far more punishing than initially intended. These early-game missions were designed to create tension but have instead left players feeling frustrated. According to the data collected by the development team, these missions aren’t functioning as they had hoped.

The main problem, Gerighty explained, lies in the instant fail mechanic, which triggers when a player is spotted by enemies. While he didn’t dive too deeply into specifics, Gerighty acknowledged that the team doesn’t want the game to feel unfair. Rather than removing the fail condition entirely, he emphasized that there are numerous ways to make the missions "more enjoyable and understandable." Players won't have to wait long for these changes, as a patch is expected to roll out within the next week, following closely on the heels of the game’s first major post-launch update.

More Content and Features on the Horizon

In addition to refining gameplay through regular updates, Star Wars Outlaws fans can expect new content in the future, thanks to the expansions already in the pipeline. Players have also begun creating their own wishlists of features they'd like to see added to the game. One of the most highly requested features is a New Game Plus mode, a fan-favorite option seen in many modern games. Popular titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 have introduced this mode post-launch, and it appears Outlaws players are hoping for a similar addition.

With the upcoming patch set to address some of the game’s early frustrations, and more content on the way, Star Wars Outlaws is on a path to becoming the immersive Star Wars experience fans have been waiting for.
