Overwatch 2 has just announced an exciting crossover with My Hero Academia, set to bring five new legendary skins into the game. This collaboration adds to Overwatch 2's growing roster of partnerships, which already features prominent names from Japanese pop culture.
The first crossover in Overwatch 2 occurred last year, showcasing skins inspired by One-Punch Man. This popular manga follows Saitama, a hero capable of defeating foes with a single punch. In this collaboration, players saw Doomfist transformed into Saitama, Genji taking on the role of cyborg Genos, Kiriko as Terrible Tornado, and Soldier 76 as the fan-favorite Mumen Rider. In March, the game also teamed up with Cowboy Bebop, an anime revolving around a crew of space bounty hunters, featuring Ashe as Faye Valentine, Cassidy as Spike Spiegel, Mauga as Jet Black, and Sombra as Ed.
Now, the spotlight shifts to My Hero Academia, with five Legendary skins available from October 17 to October 30. Tracer will embody the protagonist, Deku, while Reinhardt takes on the heroic All Might, and Juno is transformed into Uraraka. The villains are not left out, with Reaper getting a skin inspired by Tomura Shigaraki, the leader of the League of Villains, and Kiriko receiving a cosmetic based on Himiko Toga, one of the series' key antagonists.
• Tracer as Deku
• Reinhardt as All Might
• Juno as Uraraka
• Reaper as Tomura Shigaraki
• Kiriko as Himiko Toga
In addition to these exciting skins, Blizzard has announced that players can obtain the My Hero Academia skins through a mega bundle available in the in-game shop. This bundle will include all five Legendary skins along with additional cosmetics, although specific details about these extras have yet to be revealed. Players will also have the chance to earn five Overwatch 2 sprays and a weapon charm for free as part of the collaboration.
This crossover enhances the already impressive lineup of skins released in Overwatch 2 Season 12, which features a variety of themes, including Egyptian mythology. On social media, fans have been buzzing with ideas for other characters who could have received skins from this collaboration, suggesting concepts like Red Riot for Venture, Frog Girl for Lucio, Bakugo for Junkrat, and a My Hero Academia skin for Sojourn. The community has expressed particular excitement about Juno finally receiving her first skin, especially one inspired by a beloved character.
