A dedicated Pokémon GO player has recently showcased an extraordinary collection of Galarian Birds, boasting 11 of these elusive Legendary creatures. Despite being introduced to Pokémon GO years ago, the Galarian forms of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres remain some of the game’s most sought-after finds.
These Legendary Birds originally captivated players during the franchise's early days, alongside Mewtwo, as some of the most challenging Pokémon to obtain. In Generation 8, Pokémon Sword and Shield revived the trio with the Crown Tundra DLC, giving them regional forms, new typings, and refreshed appearances.
When these Galarian versions were introduced to Pokémon GO, they were released alongside the Crown Tundra expansion, but they have continued to be notoriously difficult to catch. This rarity has only heightened their appeal as prestigious trophies for the most fortunate and skilled players.
Reddit user ShimuraMasako recently made waves by displaying their impressive haul: three Galarian Articuno, five Galarian Zapdos, and three Galarian Moltres. Except for one, all these prized finds boast Combat Power in the four-digit range, with the standout being a Galarian Articuno with a CP of 2,855 and the added distinction of being a Lucky Pokémon. Despite their rarity, most of these Pokémon have somewhat lackluster IVs, but they still inspire envy among the Pokémon GO community.
Acquiring such a remarkable collection hasn't been without effort. The player revealed that they have utilized Daily Incense since its release and even employed two Master Balls to complete their set, with the first used to capture their initial Moltres. While they don’t use any special techniques for catching these birds, their coastal location, which experiences frequent windy conditions, appears to increase their chances of encountering the elusive creatures.
Despite the impressive nature of their collection, it lacks one significant element: the Shiny versions of the Galarian Birds. Released in 2022 as rewards for the Pokémon 2022 International Challenge, these Shiny variants are extremely rare and highly coveted. In addition to their collection of Legendary Birds, the player has also managed to capture two Armored Mewtwo, further showcasing their dedication and prowess in the game.
