In Star Wars Outlaws, the spotlight shines on Kay as she navigates the galaxy’s criminal underworld. Although you'll encounter various criminal factions, the Empire remains a dominant force, making its presence felt throughout the game.
If you clash with the Empire, your Wanted level will rise, eventually leading to a full-blown manhunt. This escalates the situation, drawing Death Troopers into the fray—a unique event that also grants players an achievement.
You won’t find Death Troopers; they’ll come looking for you. Death Troopers are summoned only when your Wanted level reaches its peak. Therefore, you need to escalate your Wanted level to the maximum before they will appear. Prepare yourself with plenty of supplies and be ready for an intense fight, as the entire planet will become increasingly hostile.
To elevate your Wanted level, start by engaging and eliminating multiple stormtroopers and officers in view of others. If you do this in a remote area, your Wanted level might decrease quickly. Instead, head to an Imperial outpost and initiate combat there. Create a commotion to trigger alarms and alert all nearby enemies. Your Wanted level is represented by bars around the Imperial logo, with additional bars filling up as you continue your spree.
Once your Wanted level is fully charged, you’ll receive a notification that a manhunt has begun, setting your Wanted level at its highest. To lower your Wanted level, you’ll need to either pay off an Imperial officer, die, or confront and eliminate the Death Troopers dispatched to track you down. During this manhunt, a Death Trooper event will appear on-screen, showing your proximity to them and marking their location on your map.
During a manhunt, Imperial patrols will flood the area, and roads will be blocked by shields. When you reach the Death Trooper’s location, expect to face three Death Troopers and one officer. To improve your odds, seek out nearby patrols for better weaponry and Bacta vials, as Death Troopers have high health and deal significant damage.
It’s advisable to tackle Death Troopers one at a time, or focus your efforts on eliminating them sequentially. Each Death Trooper may require two full blaster magazines to defeat. Look for a stash of E-11 blasters inside their operating tent; these are more effective against them, needing only a few shots to bring them down.
After defeating the Death Troopers and the officer, you can use the key card the officer dropped to clear your Wanted level and end the manhunt, and earning you the “They Live Up to the Name” achievement.
