In Black Myth: Wukong, although the game isn’t open-world, exploration still rewards players with valuable discoveries and hidden challenges. Venturing off the beaten path can lead to unique boss encounters and unlock secret areas that might otherwise go unnoticed.
In Chapter 4 of Black Myth: Wukong, players can uncover a hidden area known as the Purple Mountain. To gain access, you’ll need to defeat Venom Daoist twice. After securing the second victory, you’ll be able to enter the Purple Mountain and embark on Daoist Mi's quest.
To begin Daoist Mi's quest, head to the Petalfall Hamlet Keeper's Shrine. From this point, proceed straight ahead and ascend the stairs until you reach an open area. On your left, you’ll spot Daoist Mi. Speak with him to learn about the plight of individuals overtaken by their own greed. He will then request that you gather the Violet Hail (Key Item).
To complete the quest, you need to obtain the Violet Hail, which drops from enemies in the vicinity. Defeat as many yellow-robed enemies as possible to collect this item. Once you have the Violet Hail, return to Daoist Mi and present it to him. Instead of offering a reward, Daoist Mi will turn hostile and attack.
Daoist Mi Phase 1
In the initial phase, Daoist Mi utilizes his agility to strike at players. To simplify the battle, employ the Immobilize spell. For a faster resolution, use A Pluck of Many to unleash a barrage of attacks. After defeating him in this phase, Daoist Mi will transform into a worm, initiating the second phase of the fight.
Daoist Mi Phase 2
In this phase, Daoist Mi's attacks become more potent and can inflict poison on players. Exercise caution when engaging him. Utilize the Immobilize spell once more and follow up by transforming into Red Tides. This combination should be sufficient to defeat Daoist Mi. Upon his defeat, you’ll unlock the Violet Hail (Spell) transformation, which is incredibly useful against poison-inflicting bosses, as it completely negates the poison effect.
Remember, if you don’t complete Daoist Mi's quest before defeating The Duskveil, you will be locked out of it. Therefore, ensure you finish this side quest before tackling the main boss of the area.
