Game Science has rolled out a new update for Black Myth: Wukong, aiming to address various persistent bugs and glitches that players have encountered. Since its launch on August 19, 2024, for PC and PS5, Black Myth: Wukong has quickly emerged as one of the year's standout titles, earning widespread acclaim from both critics and gamers.
Despite its mid-August release, the action RPG has already sold an impressive 18 million copies, becoming the most downloaded game on the PlayStation Store in North America, Europe, and Japan. Eager to build on this momentum, Game Science has introduced a series of fixes in their latest patch.
The update, designated 1.0.9.15179, is now available for download on both Steam and PS5. This 1.7GB patch implements several adjustments to enhance stability and resolve lingering issues, including a bug that hindered players from unlocking the achievement for 100% completion. Additionally, it addresses game-freezing glitches that occurred during boss encounters and resolved instances where certain enemies became stuck in their locations.
In addition to fixing bugs, the latest patch brings notable changes to equipment and weapons. The Spikeshaft Staff now boosts Maximum Mana by 30, while the medicinal properties of the Insect armor set have seen significant enhancements. Furthermore, the update improves localization, correcting errors in the English version of the game.
Players are likely to be eager to install this update; however, Game Science has cautioned Steam users to remove any mods from Black Myth: Wukong prior to installation to avoid potential compatibility issues that could prevent the game from launching. The patch notes indicate that players can reinstall their mods after the update is complete.
As gamers delve into the new update, there may be even more exciting news on the horizon. Reports suggest that Game Science is working on downloadable content (DLC) for Black Myth: Wukong, potentially set for release in 2025. Although unconfirmed, rumors indicate that this expansion might coincide with the Chinese New Year, which falls on January 29, 2025. Additionally, plans are in place for a future release on Xbox Series X/S.
