Disney Dreamlight Valley: Complete Walkthrough for the Palace of Time Quest

With the release of Disney Dreamlight Valley's A Rift in Time Act III, players are introduced to a fresh wave of quests. After completing the initial mission involving Merlin and collaborating with Rapunzel, Gaston, Mickey, and Oswald to seal the enigmatic black-and-white rifts on Eternity Isle, you'll unlock the next exciting challenge: “The Palace of Time.”

In this quest, the secret door to Jafar’s Palace is revealed, allowing you to enter and thwart Jafar’s plans to manipulate time using the Spark of Imagination. Upon entering, you'll be greeted by a sequence of rooms filled with intricate puzzles. Your mission: to stop Jafar and his time-bending schemes once and for all.

Navigating to the Throne Room in Jafar’s Palace

Your journey begins with the second quest of this update. Enter through the trap door and face a chasm that requires crossing. Find the giant hourglass in the room and interact with it to rewind time. Cross the stone bridge, clear any Splinters of Fate blocking your way, and ascend the steps to reach another hourglass. Interact with this hourglass to return time to the present.

Note that Splinters of Fate and Swirling Sands inside Jafar’s Palace do not yield resources as they do outside.

Continue through the door, climb the two sets of stairs, and enter a new room. This room contains more Splinters of Fate and Swirling Sands, another giant hourglass, and a puzzle to deactivate the door. Interact with the hourglass to turn back time and move towards the white circle disks on the floor.

Enter the cell room on the left, clear out any Splinters of Fate and Swirling Sands, and open a chest for a surprise. Stand on the circle and interact with it twice to align it correctly with the blue currents. Adjust the mirror to face the panel next to the door, interact with the giant hourglass again, and proceed through the now-unlocked door. Ascend another flight of stairs, interact with the hourglass to open the door ahead, and enter the throne room.

Finding the Key to the Throne Room

Upon entering the throne room, a brief cutscene will reveal additional rooms to explore. Clear any obstacles blocking your path and discover that the route to Jafar is obstructed by a locked gate. Your next task is to locate the key within the palace.

Ascend the left staircase and remove any obstacles. The right staircase leads to another chest with an additional surprise. Continue up the stairs until you reach Jafar’s Laboratory. Here, you'll need to deactivate another door and feed a raven. Climb the winding staircase to find the raven.

The raven will agree to help you find the key but needs to be fed first. Check the note on the table to learn that the raven prefers a four-star dish made with fresh vegetables and rotten seafood. Use the Rift in Time DLC recipe to meet this requirement.

Gather the ingredients—ripe tomato, ripe carrot, rotten clam, and rotten fish. Interact with the giant hourglass to rewind time, then return to the table to collect the rotten clam and fish. Cook these ingredients to prepare the four-star bird feed. Feed the raven, and it will reward you with a “shiny thing.”

Four-Star Bird Food Recipe:

- Ripe carrot x1

- Ripe tomato x1

- Rotten clam x1

- Rotten fish x1

Return downstairs and place the Power Coil in the opening to the side. Interact with the giant hourglass, then align the circular disks on the ground to match the golden designs. Adjust the mirror to align with the panel next to the door.

Interact with the giant hourglass again to activate the mirror and unlock the door. Retrieve the key from the chamber, turn the giant hourglass once more, and head back to the throne room. Use the key to unlock the gate.

A final cutscene reveals Jafar’s anger and his summoning of a new black-and-white rift. Step through the rift to complete “The Palace of Time” quest and move on to “The Then and Now” quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
