Get ready for some spooktacular fun as Disney Dreamlight Valley announces the return of its beloved trick-or-treating event for the third year in a row! This annual celebration is set to kick off on October 23, offering players exclusive seasonal rewards and bringing back one of the game's most cherished traditions since its Early Access launch in September 2022.
Just two days ago, the official social media channels and website of Disney Dreamlight Valley revealed a significant update scheduled for October 9. This upcoming Jungle Getaway update will introduce fan-favorite characters Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King, along with a series of quests centered around these iconic characters.
Additionally, the update will feature a new Star Path themed around rock concerts, complete with a variety of themed furniture items. However, despite the exciting early-October announcement, there was initially no mention of any Halloween-themed content for this month.
Fortunately, a recent update from the game's social media team has clarified things, announcing that the Trick-or-Treat event will return from October 23 to 31. If this year’s event mirrors last year’s, players will need to gather ingredients such as cocoa beans, sugarcane, and vanilla to prepare candy, which they will then offer to at least ten residents of the valley. While the 2023 event rewarded participants with a Mickey Mouse Pumpkin furniture item, players can look forward to a new prize this year: Mickey's Halloween Candy Bowl, recently showcased in a Nintendo video.
Past trick-or-treat events have also allowed players to earn spooky-themed rewards by completing tasks set by villagers. For instance, previous years saw players collecting a Pumpkin Stack by harvesting 100 pumpkins or enjoying a three-course Halloween candy feast to receive the Green Trick or Treater’s Bounty candy bucket. While Gameloft has yet to announce the specific tasks and rewards for this Halloween season, fans can likely expect similar challenges to accompany the return of trick-or-treating.
The new reward showcased in Nintendo's recent video promises to give Disney Dreamlight Valley players something exciting to anticipate. This video also highlights various offerings for October on the Nintendo Switch, including new game releases like Sonic X Shadow Generations on October 25, as well as spooky seasonal events in other titles such as Disney Speedstorm, Pokemon Unite, Just Dance 2025 Edition, and Star Wars Hunters.
