Disney Dreamlight Valley Players Express Discontent Over New Star Path

A vocal segment of the Disney Dreamlight Valley community has taken to social media to share their dissatisfaction with the newly announced Night Show Star Path. Many fans were anticipating a Halloween-themed Star Path for October 2024, leading to disappointment when this expectation was not met.

Since launching in early access in September 2022, Gameloft’s popular life simulation game has introduced a total of 12 Star Paths. Typically, these reward boards, reminiscent of battle passes, accompany significant updates, with the exception of the DreamSnaps patch, which did not feature one. The announcement for the latest Star Path, The Night Show, came in early October 2024.

Players' Reactions to The Night Show Star Path

Reactions from the player base regarding this announcement have been mixed. While some fans find the concept of a rock concert-themed Star Path intriguing, many have expressed disappointment over its timing. “It feels like the wrong season for it,” commented Reddit user Jikasbox, who noted a lack of enthusiasm for what Gameloft has showcased so far. Others voiced frustration over the fact that the central stage included in the Star Path is merely a decorative feature that players cannot walk on.

The primary concern among players seems to revolve around the absence of Halloween themes in the October 2024 Star Path. Many believe that rock 'n' roll no longer embodies the dark and spooky essence typically associated with Halloween, with one player remarking, “It’s not the '50s anymore.” While Disney Dreamlight Valley has announced Halloween plans for 2024, they will not revolve around a themed Star Path. Instead, the game will celebrate the spooky season with the return of the Trick-or-Treat event, scheduled from October 23 until the end of the month.

Regarding The Night Show, this new Star Path is set to launch as part of the Disney Dreamlight Valley Jungle Getaway update, which will be released on October 9. Identified as version 1.13, this update won’t focus on Halloween but will introduce two beloved characters from The Lion King: Timon and Pumbaa.

Despite The Night Show not aligning with fans' expectations, many players have acknowledged that the rewards—particularly Moonstone and free items—are generous enough to motivate them to complete it. Based on Gameloft’s previous patterns, the next significant update for Disney Dreamlight Valley, along with its accompanying Star Path, is anticipated to arrive in late December 2024.
