Over the years, Pokemon GO has become known for its diverse range of events. On August 31, the game will host a Community Day featuring Popplio, the Water-type starter from the Alola region. Since January 2018, Community Days have been a monthly tradition, sometimes showcasing returning Pokemon and sometimes featuring new ones. These events give players a chance to catch a large number of the same Pokemon, including its various forms, over a few hours, with increased chances of finding a shiny version.

Additionally, players can purchase Special Research tasks tied to the event, which offer unique rewards. Raid battles featuring the event's Pokemon are also a common sight at Gyms during Community Days.

The first Wild Area event in Pokemon GO has been officially scheduled, starting from November 16 to 17 in Fukuoka, Japan, and will then roll out globally from November 23 to 24. Although specific details about this event are still under wraps, fans can keep an eye on Pokemon GO’s Twitter and blog for upcoming updates.

The Wild Area might resemble other live events like the Pokemon GO Safari Zone, where participants can buy tickets to join or take advantage of special Pokemon spawns throughout the event area.

Another major event hosted by Niantic is the annual Pokemon GO Fest, a significant celebration that has been part of the game since 2017. This event has expanded to multiple cities each year since 2022, and since 2020, it has included both global celebrations and ticketed in-person events.

Niantic has made significant efforts to ensure that the selection of available Pokemon in Pokemon GO aligns with the broader franchise. This September, the game will introduce 13 new Pokemon, including the starters from the Galar region: Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble.

Stonjourner will also be available as a regional exclusive in the UK, providing travelers with an incentive to catch Pokemon from different parts of the world. Pokemon GO continues to encourage players to explore and discover new Pokemon, staying true to its motto: “Gotta catch 'em all!”
