Chasca is generating a lot of buzz among Genshin Impact fans, thanks to a new leak that sheds light on her potential abilities. While many players are currently focused on Xilonen and Mavuika, Chasca’s distinctive feathery outfit and stylish hat, which were teased in the Ignition trailer for Version 5.0, have quickly made her a fan favorite. As a member of the Flower-Feather Clan, Chasca is set to play a significant role in Natlan's debut patch and is expected to be a key character in Version 5.2.
There are two main reasons for Chasca’s anticipated prominence. First, the Natlan map expansion in Version 5.2 will showcase the Flower-Feather Clan, who inhabit the volcanic highlands. Second, rumors suggest that Chasca will make her Event Banner debut in the same update. Although character release schedules can change, it's also expected that Ororon will join the roster as a 4-Star Bow user in Version 5.2. With his outfit featuring Flower-Feather Clan designs, players are speculating he might be an Electro character, whereas Chasca is anticipated to take on the role of an Anemo Bow hypercarry.
According to insider FouL, Chasca is set to bring a highly coveted ability to Genshin Impact’s Anemo roster: the power of flight. By entering her Nightsoul state, Chasca will be able to soar through the air for a limited time, potentially extending this duration with the use of Natlan’s Phlogiston. In combat, she is said to possess the ability to absorb elemental energy (except for Geo and Dendro), reminiscent of the mechanics seen with Wanderer. Based on these leaks, players are excited about Chasca possibly becoming a Swirl hypercarry, a niche that has plenty of room for development.
White’s earlier confirmation that Chasca will be an Anemo Main DPS lends further credibility to these leaks. Another leak suggests that Citlali, a 4-Star character, will be added to Genshin Impact’s playable lineup in Version 5.3, slated for release on January 1, 2025. Collectively, these details give players a clearer picture of the character release schedule for the first half of the Natlan era.
However, it’s important to keep in mind that a character’s kit can undergo changes before launch, as was the case with Arlecchino during the beta for Version 4.6. Furthermore, while Genshin Impact’s Xianyun also has a flight-related ability, its current implementation leaves much to be desired. Although the arrival of a 5-Star Anemo character like Chasca is exciting, players should manage their expectations. Chasca is rumored to appear on the Event Banners starting November 20, 2024.
