In Metaphor: ReFantazio, players enjoy ample free time in each major city they explore throughout the game. With the aid of teleportation magic, you can easily return to any city you've visited, allowing you to tackle all content at your own pace, even if it means coming back at a later time.
However, with the in-game calendar, time is limited for accomplishing your goals. It's essential for players to know the final in-game day to ensure they don’t miss out on any opportunities. Completing every follower rank and clearing as many dungeons as possible is vital for being fully prepared for the ultimate confrontation. This guide will reveal the last playable day in the game while intentionally avoiding late-game spoilers.
The last day you can freely explore in Metaphor: ReFantazio is 10/25, with the climactic battle against the main antagonist occurring on 10/26. Although it may seem like a point of no return arises after 9/23, this is not the case. After progressing through several in-game story days, you will receive a significant block of free time extending from 9/26 all the way to 10/25, providing a full month to complete your objectives.
Once 10/26 arrives, you’ll be thrust into the final dungeon, leading directly to the ultimate boss fight. Following this encounter, only the concluding story remains before the credits roll. There is no post-game content available; your only options are to start anew or embark on a New Game Plus run. Although the last month of free time may seem generous, it’s crucial to manage your time wisely throughout the game rather than relying solely on this final stretch to prepare for the impending battle.
While popularity plays a significant role in gameplay during the early stages, it later becomes closely tied to the narrative. However, it does not influence which ending you receive, as that is determined by the choices you make when interacting with the main villain on the final day. If you prefer to overlook popularity, you can do so without concern; it simply serves as an easy source of MAG if you check in at the King's Rock after enhancing your rank.
