Elmenta in Metaphor: ReFantazio are special enemies that can reward players with a significant amount of Reeve (money) and Magla (MAG) upon defeat. These elusive foes are similar to the wild Abra in Pokémon games; they don’t deal any damage but will attempt to flee the moment they get the chance.

To make matters more challenging, if you engage Elmenta in direct combat, they’ll try to escape as soon as their turn arrives. They lack any form of attack and will only aim to run away. To prevent this, players need to either stun or delay them before they can make their move. The trick to achieving this lies in attacking the Elmenta in the overworld, which reduces their yellow gauge and causes them to miss their first turn once the battle begins.
The key to stopping Elmenta from escaping is to make the most of the Mage Archetype's abilities. This class's default overworld attack is an area-of-effect move, making it highly effective at hitting Elmenta as they try to flee.

During the early stages of the game, delaying the Elmenta's turn is possible with the help of the Phantasmal Doll accessory. This valuable item allows a character to take two consecutive turns instead of the usual single action, which can be critical in dealing enough damage to finish off an Elmenta before they escape. It’s best to equip the Phantasmal Doll on your highest-damage dealer to maximize its effect.
Keep in mind that the Phantasmal Doll doesn’t grant an extra turn; it simply lets the equipped character act twice in a row without the usual rotation delay.
The Phantasmal Doll can be purchased from the magic shop, Gloamhall, located in Grand Trad, for 49,000 Reeve. Note that this shop only opens its doors at night, so plan your visit accordingly. For those looking to save some currency, all vendor items, including the Phantasmal Doll, are offered at a 20% discount on Idlesday. Be sure to check your in-game calendar to take advantage of these savings.

In Metaphor: ReFantazio, Elmenta come in three different types, each with unique elemental weaknesses. Exploiting these weaknesses is crucial to deal maximum damage before they have the opportunity to flee the battle.
| Elmenta | Weakness | Drops |
| Blue Elmenta | Fire | Splintering Ice Crystal Onyx |
| Red Elmenta | Ice | Lava Crystal Peridot |
| Green Elmenta | Electric | Stormcaller Flute Amethyst |
Using Elemental Synthesis skills that target these vulnerabilities is the most effective way to eliminate Elmenta in a single turn.
Elmenta are rare creatures that can be found in dungeons or aboard the Gauntlet Runner in Metaphor: ReFantazio. Their appearances depend on the dungeon's level. Lower-level dungeons like the Belega Corridor and Regalith Grand Cathedral host Blue Elmenta, mid-level areas spawn Red Elmenta, and high-level dungeons feature Green Elmenta. On the Gauntlet Runner, the type of Elmenta you encounter varies based on the region you're exploring.

A useful strategy for farming Elmenta involves taking advantage of the game’s respawn mechanics. After leaving a dungeon area and then returning, enemies—including Elmenta—will respawn. This makes it possible to repeatedly farm these rare foes to gather plenty of Reeve and Magla.
By employing these strategies and making the most of the tools available, you can defeat Elmenta and reap the valuable rewards they offer in Metaphor: ReFantazio.
