If you're finding yourself low on hearts in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, healing with smoothies is one option. However, there are moments when Zelda might take significant damage, leading to a game over. To avoid this, it’s wise to collect fairies. A staple item in the Legend of Zelda series, fairies make their appearance in Echoes of Wisdom as well. To catch fairies, you'll need a key item called a Fairy Bottle. There are four Fairy Bottles hidden throughout Hyrule.
Using Fairy Bottles is straightforward. Just ensure you have an empty bottle in your inventory, approach a fairy, and press the A button to add it to your key items. If your health drops to zero, the fairy will restore it. While fairies are not abundant in Echoes of Wisdom, you can find one in a lake to the east of Suthorn Village. Additionally, there are two fairies located at the Great Fairy Fountain on Lake Hylia, and you can find others hiding in jars in some dungeons, like the Gerudo Sanctum.
Here’s where to locate all four Fairy Bottles:
Start your adventure by heading east from Suthorn Village. You'll discover a cave near a rift, filled with Zols and an Ignizol. Venture deeper into the cave to uncover a chest containing the Fairy Bottle. It's likely you'll come across this Fairy Bottle early in your playthrough, and it’s a fantastic way to collect the Ignizol you’ll need for a future side quest.
Your next Fairy Bottle is found in Kakariko Village. To obtain it, you must complete the “Cuccos on the Loose” side quest. Speak to the woman outside the cucco pen and search for five cuccos scattered around Kakariko Village. After returning all five to the pen, she will reward you with a Fairy Bottle.
You can also earn a Fairy Bottle through the Stamp Rally. The first stamp stand you encounter will unlock Stamp Cards, which are given to you by the Stamp Guy. For every five stamps you collect, you’ll receive a reward and a new card. Once you gather 15 stamps, the Stamp Guy will present you with a Fairy Bottle. Stamp stands are typically located in or around villages but can also be found on hilltops or mountains. It’s advisable to obtain this Fairy Bottle after learning Echoes such as the Flying Tile or Platboom.
Once you've completed the "Still Missing" main quest, fast-travel to Seesyde Village. There, you’ll find a man perched on the yellow roof of a boat, marked with a red quest marker that says “Is my boat still zappy?” Accept the side quest, and you'll need to swim out to Zora Cove to explore a wrecked ship located just south of the Zora Cove cave, where Hydrozols can be found. If you’re uncertain about the location, consult the map provided above.
In the quest "The Zappy Shipwreck," you’ll have to break open the hatch to enter the ship. Use the grabbing ability (X button) to accomplish this. The ship acts as a dungeon, and once you reach the bottom floor, you’ll face Barinade.
Barinade can be a challenging boss due to its electric attacks. However, you can utilize elemental enemies like Wizzrobes or Fire Keese to clear the jellyfish barrier. Once Barinade’s defenses are down, switch to Swordfighter Mode and unleash as many attacks as possible before it recovers. Defeating Barinade will reward you with a Piece of Heart.
After conquering the boss, return to Seesyde Village and share your success with the man on the boat. He’ll reward you with the final Fairy Bottle.
With all four Fairy Bottles in your possession, you’ll be better prepared for the challenges that lie ahead in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom!
