Dragon Age: The Veilguard - Sneak Peek at Inquisitor's Character Creator

The Dragon Age series has often struggled with character creation, particularly when it comes to offering a diverse range of options, especially in hairstyles, making it challenging to craft appealing characters.

However, Dragon Age: The Veilguard appears to have made significant improvements in this area. IGN's recent preview highlights the extensive customization features available in the new game. While we were already aware of the innovative hair physics, we now know that players will have access to an impressive 88 hairstyles for non-Qunari characters and 30 for Qunari. Additionally, Qunari players can choose from 49 unique horn styles, addressing some previous criticisms about their visual design.

Players will also have the ability to modify their character’s head shape, including the option to create facial asymmetries. Furthermore, body shape can be adjusted along a triangular axis, promoting a level of body diversity that has been lacking in earlier titles.

World State Customization

Fans will be thrilled to learn that the character creator allows for the design of the Inquisitor in The Veilguard without the infamous green lighting of the Inquisition character creator. Players will also have the option to cycle through various lighting settings to see how their character looks in different environments.

Although not fully detailed in the video, there is a section labeled "Customise World State," which raises questions about the depth of this feature. With the discontinuation of Dragon Age Keep, it’s uncertain how thoroughly this system will allow players to tweak decisions made throughout the series.
