In Satisfactory, expanding your factory often means venturing beyond the safety of your base to explore the alien planet. This new territory is rich with resources but also teeming with hostile creatures that can hinder your progress.
Fortunately, FICSIT Pioneers are equipped with a variety of defensive tools, one of the most versatile being the Rebar Gun. This powerful weapon can fire various types of ammunition at short to medium ranges. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to unlock, craft, and use the Rebar Gun effectively.
To gain access to the Rebar Gun, you need to research it using the MAM (Molecular Analysis Machine). This research is part of the Alien Megafauna Research Tree and requires completing several precursor nodes:
1. Hog, Hatcher, Stinger, or Spitter Research
2. Bio-Organic Properties
3. Structural Analysis
Once you've completed the Structural Analysis research node, the Rebar Gun research node will become available. To complete this research, gather the following materials:
- 25 Rotors
- 50 Reinforced Iron Plates
- 500 Screws
With the Rebar Gun recipe unlocked, you can now craft the weapon at your Equipment Workshop. You’ll need:
- 6 Reinforced Iron Plates
- 16 Iron Rods
- 100 Screws
Additionally, researching the Rebar Gun will also unlock the recipe for Iron Rebar, the ammunition used by the gun. Crafting Iron Rebar requires just one Iron Rod per piece.
While you can unlock the Rebar Gun at any stage in the game, you must complete the Tier 2 Milestone "Part Assembly" to craft the Rotors necessary for the research node.
The Rebar Gun is designed to fire one piece of Rebar ammunition per shot before needing to reload. Unlike some automatic weapons, the Rebar Gun requires manual reloading—press the R key to reload.
The Rebar Gun supports several types of ammunition, including:
- Explosive Rebar
- Shatter Rebar
- Stun Rebar
- Standard Iron Rebar
To switch between different types of ammo, hold down R, provided you have the desired ammunition in your inventory.
Although you need to reload after each shot, you can equip multiple Rebar Guns simultaneously. This setup allows you to switch between guns and fire multiple shots before reloading each weapon.
By mastering the use of the Rebar Gun, you’ll be better prepared to fend off threats and continue your factory expansion with confidence.
