In Age of Mythology: Retold, players must manage both settlement development and military expansion while contending with other civilizations. Along your journey, you’ll encounter relics that can significantly enhance your civilization’s strength. These relics offer various advantages, with dozens scattered throughout the game.
This guide will walk you through the process of collecting relics. Although it’s a straightforward task, it might be a bit confusing for first-timers. We'll also cover what to do with relics once you've gathered them.

Relics in Age of Mythology: Retold aren’t deeply hidden, but you’ll need to explore the map to uncover them. They can appear randomly, and while there are no fixed locations, you can spot them on your mini-map. In the image provided, two relics are highlighted, which resemble upright rectangles.
On the mini-map, relics are represented by small white icons, distinct from larger markers like settlement locations. Once a relic is collected, its icon will vanish from the map.

It’s important to note that not all units are capable of picking up relics. If you’re playing as a civilization other than the Egyptians, only Heroes are able to collect them. However, if you are playing as the Egyptian civilization, you can assign Priests to collect relics once you've researched Hands of the Pharaoh, a technology available in the Classical Age at the Temple.
To collect a relic, simply send your Hero (or Priest, if Egyptian) to interact with it. After acquiring the relic, direct them to your Temple, where they can safely store it.

Each Temple in Age of Mythology: Retold can hold up to five relics. While this is quite a bit of storage, keep in mind that there are 56 relics in total scattered throughout the game. The key to success is managing your Temple’s relic capacity to maximize the advantages they provide.
With these tips, you'll be well on your way to collecting and utilizing relics to boost your civilization's power!
