In Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, even the might of a Space Marine isn’t enough to halt the relentless advance of the Tyranid swarms without the right arsenal. To enhance your weapons and gain new perks, you’ll need Mastery Points—a special currency that requires considerable effort to accumulate. This guide will detail how to earn Mastery Points and leverage them to upgrade your weaponry effectively.
There are several methods to acquire Mastery Points:
1. Level Up Your Weapons and Variants
The primary way to earn Mastery Points is by leveling up your weapons through combat. Each weapon gains experience (XP) as you use it in Operations. Once a weapon reaches its maximum XP, you’ll receive a Mastery Point. To expedite this process, focus on using various weapon variants and upgrades until each reaches its highest XP level.
While you can gain weapon XP in Eternal War PvP mode, completing Operations is generally a more efficient method for leveling up weapons and earning Mastery Points. To maximize your Mastery Points for a specific weapon type, ensure that all its variants and upgrades are fully upgraded. A weapon type is considered "fully mastered" once all available upgrades are maxed out.
2. Utilize Armory Data
If grinding through Operations isn’t your preference, Armory Data offers a quicker alternative for leveling up your weapons and earning Mastery Points. Armory Data is another currency in the game that you can acquire by successfully completing Operations and finding Servo Skulls.
To use Armory Data, simply hover over the weapon variant you wish to upgrade and click to apply an Armory Data point (available in green, purple, or gold) to instantly level up the weapon. Note that while this method grants you Mastery Points, it does not provide Weapon XP, which is necessary for unlocking higher upgrade tiers.
Mastery Points are used to unlock various Weapon Perks that enhance your weapon’s performance. These perks can increase damage, improve accuracy, or grant special abilities.
The perks you can access are determined by your weapon's Tier. Higher Tiers unlock more powerful perks, which you can achieve by upgrading your weapon’s Tier with Armory Data.
You have the flexibility to reset your perk selections at any time, allowing you to modify your build according to your needs and preferences.
By mastering these strategies for earning and utilizing Mastery Points, you can significantly enhance your weapons and improve your combat effectiveness in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2.
