Elden Ring: Locating Blaidd in the Siofra River Well

Blaidd the Half-Wolf is an important NPC in Elden Ring, serving as the loyal blade of Ranni the Witch. Ranni sends Blaidd on a mission to locate the hidden treasure of Nokron, but Blaidd himself is unsure of the entrance’s location. Since Nokron is an underground area, Blaidd suggests meeting the Tarnished at Siofra River, a sprawling underground region in the game.

Locating Blaidd in the vast Siofra River area can be challenging, but it’s crucial for advancing both his and Ranni’s questlines. Blaidd can be found in the deepest section of the river. Even after players speak with Preceptor Seluvis, Blaidd will remain in this spot until the quest to defeat Starscourge Radahn begins, at which point he’ll move to Redmane Castle.

Updated September 11th, 2024 by Jacob Buchalter: Ranni’s questline in Elden Ring is one of the game’s most intricate, with numerous steps and complex story beats. Even the side quests introduced in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC seem simpler by comparison, though they’re easier to miss or fail.

One of the early stages of Ranni’s questline involves tracking down Blaidd, who is searching for Nokron and the Fingerslayer Blade. One key location for this is the Siofra River Well, but finding Blaidd here can be tricky if you don’t know where to look. Here’s a guide to help you locate him in the underground city of Siofra River.

In the Mistwood Outskirts, Near Where You First Encountered Blaidd

Once you pledge yourself to Ranni’s service, she’ll ask you to speak with three individuals on the first floor, one of whom is Blaidd. In his spectral form, Blaidd will be standing near a wall. He’ll inform you that his next destination is the Siofra River, where he’ll continue his search for Nokron, the Eternal City.

To meet Blaidd, you’ll need to head to the Mistwood Outskirts Site of Grace, located on the eastern side of Limgrave. After teleporting to this location, hop on your trusty steed, Torrent, and mark the nearby Minor Erdtree (Mistwood) on your map. From there, ride towards it.

Just north of the Minor Erdtree, you’ll come across a small round building with a pressure plate elevator inside. Take the elevator, which will slowly descend, and it’ll bring you to the entrance of the Siofra River Well. Be cautious, though—the area is filled with Runebears, some of the most fearsome enemies in Elden Ring.

Where to Find Blaidd in the Siofra River Well?

After arriving in the Siofra River Well, make sure to activate the Site of Lost Grace near the elevator, known as the Siofra River Well Depths Site of Grace. From there, continue deeper into the area. In the distance, you’ll spot a large archway surrounded by crumbling pillars. Make your way through this entrance, either dealing with or avoiding the Clayman enemies scattered around, and then ascend the stairs to the left. Keep climbing until you reach a towering waterfall.

Near the waterfall, there’s a hidden entrance leading to another elevator. Take this elevator down, and you’ll arrive in the Siofra River Bank. At this point, Torrent can be summoned, so hop on and begin exploring the area. You’ll encounter various enemies, including Giant Crabs and Ancestral Worshippers, along with materials scattered throughout the region. Ride north through the watery swamp until you come across the Siofra River Bank Site of Grace.

From this point, head towards the nearby Hallowhorn Grounds and collect the map fragment for the Siofra River from a corpse near the staircase. Once you have the map, go west from the staircase and climb the small slope you’ll find there.

At the top, you’ll finally spot Blaidd standing near a cliff. Approach him and engage in conversation to advance both his questline and Ranni’s. Be sure to exhaust all of his dialogue options before reloading the area, as this will ensure that Blaidd moves to his next location in the storyline.
