With the Max Out Season in full swing, Pokemon GO is welcoming several Galarian Pokémon into the game, including the region-exclusive Stonjourner. While many trainers will be busy chasing after the Galarian starters or hatching eggs in hopes of snagging the elusive Dreepy, Stonjourner is making its debut—but only in select areas.

As a regional variant in Pokemon GO, Stonjourner’s Rock-type appearance is inspired by the iconic Stonehenge monument, fittingly making it exclusive to the United Kingdom. With access to powerful Rock-type moves and a strong maximum CP, Stonjourner has the potential to become a valuable asset for players tackling tough legendary raids.

How to Find Stonjourner in Pokemon GO

According to the official Pokemon GO website, trainers in the United Kingdom may encounter Stonjourner in the wild. However, regional spawns in the game can be tricky, as specific locations often follow border-based squares that dictate where certain Pokémon appear.

A good example of how this works is seen with Klefki, which spawns in the southern parts of the UK due to similar regional borders.

While all of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland are confirmed as spawn areas for Stonjourner, it's uncertain whether it will also appear in nearby territories like the Channel Islands. Additionally, the spawn zone extends across most of Ireland, covering areas as far west as Roscommon and Tipperary. However, trainers in cities like Cork, Limerick, and Galway may need to travel east to find this Pokémon. Interestingly, a small section of France, specifically the western parts of Pas-de-Calais and Somme, also falls within the spawn range.

With a maximum CP of 3638, and stats boasting 222 ATK, 182 DEF, and 225 STA, Stonjourner can hold its own in raids, especially with moves like Rock Throw as its Fast Attack, and powerful Charged Moves like Stomp, Rock Slide, and Stone Edge. Despite its strengths, it’s not likely to make waves in PvP outside of the Great League, as more competitive options are available.

Pro Tips for Catching Stonjourner

Although Stonjourner is making its debut during the GO All Out 2024 event, its spawn rate isn’t boosted, making it a bit of a challenge to catch. But don’t worry—there are a few things you can do to increase your odds of encountering this Rock-type Pokémon:

1. Look for PokéStops in areas with partly cloudy weather, as it boosts Rock-type spawns.

2. Attach a Lure Module to the PokéStop to attract more Pokémon to the area.

3. Use an Incense to increase nearby wild spawns.

4. Walk around within the affected area and keep an eye out for Stonjourner.

Can Stonjourner Be Shiny in Pokemon GO?

Unfortunately, Stonjourner cannot be shiny at this time. As a new addition to Pokemon GO, Niantic has not released its shiny variant for the Max Out season. Historically, regional Pokémon don’t tend to have shiny forms available until the corresponding region’s Tour event. It may be a few years before we see shiny Stonjourner join the game.

So, while shiny hunters will have to wait, there’s still plenty of excitement around adding Stonjourner to your team and exploring its potential in raids and beyond.
