Complete Guide to the "In the Footsteps of the Chosen of Dragons" Quest

When you explore Natlan in Genshin Impact, you'll eventually encounter a Saurian companion. This creature will accompany you on your journey, but soon you'll discover that it needs healing at the volcano, setting you on a quest to restore its health. Alongside these tasks, your Saurian friend will also embark on a series of missions to grow and develop into a strong companion.

The questline, titled "In the Footsteps of the Chosen of Dragons," includes 10 missions that players can undertake in Genshin Impact 5.0.

Overview of "In the Footsteps of the Chosen of Dragons" Questline

This quest series revolves around your Saurian companion in Genshin Impact. You’ll find a total of 10 quests in Natlan that you can complete:

Detailed Quest Walkthroughs

Lights, Kamera, Action!

This quest is found under the “Children” marker from the "Children of Echoes." Head to the nearby Statue of the Seven, then use Kachina to scale the cliff. Once at the top, look for the blue quest marker to begin.

Tepetlisaurus Hide-and-Seek  

Teleport to the northernmost waypoint in Sulfurous Veins, then head east. Here, you’ll encounter a large Tepetlisaurus along with some younger Whelps. Your Saurian will join in a game of hide-and-seek. To complete this quest, interact with all the small Tepetlisaur, including one perched on a log and another burrowing underground.

Gifts and Gifts in Return

Trigger this quest by locating the Rest Area in Natlan, near a waterfall west of Tepeacac Rise. Enter the domain, visit Imix at the Jeweler's shop in the Children of Echoes tribe, and follow the mission prompts. You'll need to collect three items from trees and cliffs, which can be found by following the glowing markers.

Waiting For Seeds to Sprout

From the Natlan Weapon Material Domain, climb up the domain and the cliff behind it. Visit the empty patch of land to trigger this quest.

Treasures and Collectors

Use the Teleport Waypoint north of the "Scions" marker in "Scions of the Canopy," then head west. You’ll find an NPC seated on a chair; interact with her to start the mission. Solve a small puzzle to claim your reward.

A Saurian Lover's Ordinary Days

Teleport to the "Scions of the Canopy" reputation marker and head north, jumping down the cliff. You’ll find 3 Saurian surrounding man. By the end of this quest, you can transform into a Saurian to see what the creatures think of him.

Special Friends

Head to the nearby Statue of the Seven, climb up using the Tepetlisaurus ability or Kachina, and you’ll eventually find a Yumkasaur and an alpaca.

Lies and Promises  

Head beneath Teticpac Peak, staying to the right inside the cave. You’ll find a Yumkasaur guarding a Luxurious Chest. Do the following steps to complete the mission:

- Interact with the Yumkasaur

- Transform into a Yumkasaur nearby

- Speak to the Yumkasaur

- Feed it an item like Raw Meat or Ham

- Interact again to claim the Luxurious Chest

Feeding the creature once more grants the “A Final Kindness” achievement.

Weighty Wings  

Teleport to the Waypoint north of Teticpac Peak, then head northeast. Fight a trainer and assist the creature to complete the quest.

Feeling Like Fish Today!

Go to the Waypoint southwest of the Ancestral Temple, then head further southwest to the shore. At the dock, you’ll find fishing poles. Destroy objects in the water, defeat a Slime, then use Koholasaur transformation or Mualani to catch a fish.
