A bug with the Prismatic Blessing leveling buff in World of Warcraft is making players in Dragonflight zones virtually unkillable. This glitch allows characters to survive any encounter without dying, though it’s expected to be fixed soon. For now, as long as players have the buff, they are effectively immortal.

In World of Warcraft: The War Within, Dragonflight has become the standard leveling experience for newcomers. First-time players progress from Exile’s Reach to Dragonflight content until they reach level 70, at which point they can begin The War Within. To ease this transition, new characters are granted the Prismatic Blessing, a powerful zone-wide buff that takes inspiration from the five Dragonflights of Azeroth. Its purpose is to assist new players in the Dragon Isles, where they are completing high-level content originally designed for veteran players.
However, a bug has been discovered with the Ruby Blessing, one of the benefits of the Prismatic Blessing. The Ruby Blessing is intended to fully restore a character’s health after death, with a one-hour cooldown between uses. But due to this glitch, the cooldown doesn’t activate, allowing characters to be revived instantly over and over, effectively making them invulnerable. Footage captured by Wowhead shows players being repeatedly attacked by elite enemies, yet surviving without any danger thanks to this glitch.

- Emerald Blessing – Increases health regeneration when out of combat.
- Obsidian Blessing – Prevents durability loss and reduces damage from environmental hazards.
- Blessing of the Bronze Dragonflight – Temporarily increases attack, casting, and movement speeds by 40%.
- Azure Blessing – Provides a shield equal to 10% of max health while out of combat.
- Ruby Blessing – Fully heals players when they reach 0 HP once every hour (currently bugged to have no cooldown).
World of Warcraft developers are aware of the issue and are working to patch the bug so the Ruby Blessing cooldown functions as intended. Another quirk of this buff is that it’s currently applied to all characters under level 70 in the Dragon Isles, not just to brand-new players as originally intended. It remains uncertain whether this will be changed or if the buff will remain available to everyone leveling in the area.

This immortality glitch has highlighted some broader concerns about the Prismatic Blessing. While the buff undoubtedly helps new players level up more easily, some fans argue that even without the bug, it might make the experience too forgiving. Once players hit level 70 and move to Khaz Algar, they lose the buff entirely, which leads to a sudden increase in difficulty. Players must then adjust to slower speeds, lower survivability, and tougher environmental hazards as they transition into high-level content.
Despite these concerns, there’s no better time to jump into World of Warcraft. The game’s 20th-anniversary event is right around the corner, offering players a significant boost in experience gains. Plus, many holiday events kick off as early as level 10, allowing new players to dive right into the festive celebrations.
