Pokémon GO has officially confirmed the arrival of four new Dynamax Pokémon—Falinks, Scorbunny, Sobble, and Grookey—set to make their debut on October 1. This exciting release is part of the game's latest season, fittingly titled “Max Out,” offering players a chance to expand their collections with these highly anticipated Pokémon.
The Dynamax mechanic was first introduced in Pokémon GO during the GO Big event, held from September 10-15. During this event, trainers had the opportunity to challenge and capture Dynamax versions of Charmander, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Wooloo, and Skwovet in one-star Max Battles. For trainers who managed to catch any of these Pokémon, they can now Dynamax them, as well as their evolved forms, in future Max Battles. The event also introduced a new Field Research that rewarded encounters with these Pokémon, along with Max Particles—an essential item required for participating in Max Battles.
Now, Niantic has announced that starting October 1, Falinks, Scorbunny, Sobble, and Grookey will be the next Pokémon to receive Dynamax forms in Pokémon GO. Players will be able to encounter Scorbunny, Sobble, and Grookey in one-star Max Battles, while Falinks will appear in more challenging three-star Max Battles. Lucky trainers may even find these Pokémon in their shiny forms. Just like the previous set of Dynamax Pokémon, once caught, players will be able to Dynamax these new additions during Max Battles.
While regular raids are familiar territory for most players, Max Battles bring a new level of strategy to the game. To participate, players must gather Max Particles, which can be used to power up Max Moves. Max Particles can be earned by interacting with Power Spots—locations where Dynamax Pokémon appear—or simply by walking. In Max Battles, teams of up to four players can take on the challenge, with each player bringing up to three Dynamax Pokémon to battle the boss. Unlike standard raids, Max Battles are turn-based, demanding a more tactical approach.
As September draws to a close, there are still plenty of exciting events on the horizon for Pokémon GO trainers. The Legendary Heroes event, running from September 26 to October 1, will introduce Shiny Zacian and, for the first time, allow Koffing to evolve into Galarian Weezing. Looking ahead to October, trainers can look forward to a range of activities, including Community Day featuring Sewaddle on October 5 and the Galarian Expedition event from October 4-11, where Shiny Zamazenta and the Galarian birds will make their debut.
This month’s end promises to keep Pokémon GO trainers busy with thrilling new additions and challenges, paving the way for an even more exciting October.
