An enthusiastic fan of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has created a useful chart to help players know when to find special characters at The Roost, the in-game coffee shop. This establishment offers unique interactions, and knowing the right times to visit can enhance your experience.
The Roost has been a staple in the Animal Crossing series since its debut in Animal Crossing: Wild World back in 2005. In New Horizons, it was added within the museum following the 2.0 Free Update, allowing players to enjoy a cup of coffee for 200 bells while potentially encountering familiar villagers or off-duty special characters, each offering unique dialogue.
Reddit user dianethegeek has put together a detailed chart outlining when specific characters frequent The Roost. This guide is particularly helpful for tracking down Celeste, Daisy Mae, Kicks, K.K. Slider, Label, Leif, and Saharah, who visit the island on select days every week or two. Additionally, Flick and C.J. appear only during their respective bug-catching and fishing contests. According to the chart, these characters are guaranteed to be at The Roost during the listed times, but they’ll only show up on the days they’re visiting for their special roles.
- Celeste: 5:00–6:55 p.m.
- C.J.: 8:05–10:00 p.m.
- Daisy Mae: 12:05–3:00 p.m.
- Flick: 8:05–10:00 p.m.
- Kicks: 10:05–11:00 p.m.
- K.K. Slider: 12:05–3:00 a.m.
- Label: 12:05–1:00 a.m.
- Leif: 10:05–11:00 p.m.
- Saharah: 12:05–1:00 a.m.
While tracking these special visitors can be systematic, some permanent residents may also make random appearances at The Roost. You might spot characters like Tom, Tommy, Timmy Nook, Isabelle, Blathers, Cap’n, and Orville at the counter. Moreover, there’s a 50 percent chance of encountering the Able sisters: Mabel from 7:00–7:55 a.m. and Sable from 11:05 p.m. to midnight. Wilbur is available on any day except Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:55 p.m., and the Resetti brothers appear from 2:00–3:55 p.m., with Mr. Resetti on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and Don on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
In total, Animal Crossing: New Horizons features 66 special characters. Those not mentioned can still visit The Roost if players scan their Amiibo figurines. With this chart, you'll be well-prepared for your visits to The Roost and can make the most of your time in New Horizons!
