In Enotria: The Last Song, the Maskless One has the ability to adopt the role of any boss, enemy, or NPC by donning their Mask. These Masks not only alter the Maskless One's appearance but also grant special bonuses. Each Mask offers a unique passive effect, and when you Awaken, the Mask provides additional buffs depending on which one you have equipped.
Given the wide array of Masks available, finding one that complements your playstyle is key. However, collecting Masks can be challenging. While some are easy to obtain, others require significant time and effort to acquire.
Masks are crafted using Mask Shards, which are dropped by various enemies throughout the game. When you defeat an enemy and receive Mask Shards, it indicates that you’ll eventually be able to craft that enemy's Mask and take on their abilities.
Once you gather enough Mask Shards, the corresponding Mask will automatically be added to your inventory. However, the number of Mask Shards needed varies from Mask to Mask.
You can monitor your progress by checking the Key Items section of your inventory, which displays how many Mask Shards you’ve collected and how many are still required to complete a specific Mask.
For instance, the Gardener's Mask requires 100 shards, while the Lumberjack Mask demands 200 Lumberjack Mask Shards. Acquiring these Masks will require you to repeatedly defeat specific enemies to collect the necessary shards, which can take some time.
On the other hand, boss Masks are generally easier to obtain. Some bosses drop their Mask immediately upon defeat, while others may require you to defeat additional enemies to collect the remaining shards.
After collecting a Mask, you can equip it by resting at a Reality Knot and selecting it in your Loadout. Each Mask provides unique passive effects that enhance your abilities in different ways.
Furthermore, when you land a Finishing Attack on an Unraveled enemy, you’ll enter the Awakened State, unlocking additional buffs based on the Mask you're wearing.
