In Black Myth: Wukong, players embody the Destined One, journeying through treacherous regions teeming with enemies, bosses, and fearsome foes. Despite the dangers, exploration remains a core and highly rewarding part of the experience.
By the time you enter Chapter Three, you’ll have likely encountered numerous characters and undertaken various quests. These quests are essential as they unlock hidden areas and reward you with special crafting materials, crucial for forging weapons and armor to aid you in your quest.
After reaching the Pagoda Realm in Chapter Three, make your way to the Upper Pagoda Keeper's Shrine.
From this point, turn left and drop down to initiate a battle with the boss, Captain Lotus-Vision.
Be sure to absorb The Spirit of Captain Lotus-Vision after defeating it, as this will be important later on.
Once Captain Lotus-Vision is defeated, the prison cells nearby will unlock, including the one housing the prisoner you're searching for.
Head back to the area where you were initially imprisoned. Just next to your former cell, you’ll find a man lying on the ground.
Don’t forget to interact with the nearby corpse to acquire the transformation ability Ashen Slumber.
Once you speak to the prisoner, he will assign you a quest to find and defeat four captains. Since you’ve already taken down Lotus-Vision, you’ll only need to locate the remaining three captains in Chapter Three: Captain Wise-Voice, Captain Void-Illusion, and Captain Kalpa-Wave.
Captain Wise-Voice Location
The second captain, Wise-Voice, is tied to the main storyline, so you’ll naturally encounter this boss as you advance through the Pagoda.
This fight is unmissable, and once defeated, absorb The Spirit of Captain Wise-Voice.
Captain Void-Illusion Location
Progress further through the Pagoda and eventually, you’ll arrive at the Valley of Ecstasy, near the Longevity Road Keeper's Shrine. After reaching this point, backtrack slightly and turn left. Continue forward until you come across a large corpse.
Fortunately, there’s no boss battle required here—simply interact with the corpse to obtain The Spirit of Captain Void-Illusion.
Captain Kalpa-Wave Location
The final captain, Kalpa-Wave, is another main story boss. You’ll encounter this battle as you move forward from the Valley of Ecstasy, near the Longevity Road Keeper's Shrine.
After defeating Kalpa-Wave, make sure to absorb The Spirit of Captain Kalpa-Wave.
With all four captain spirits collected, return to the prisoner and interact with him to hand over the spirits.
This will trigger a cutscene and reward you with a special crafting material, the Chubai Spearhead, marking the completion of the quest.
