A recent leak from Honkai: Star Rail has hinted at the introduction of a brand-new summoning mechanic in a future update. The game, known for its turn-based combat system, highlights unique character abilities tied to their elemental attributes and Paths. With frequent updates, Honkai: Star Rail often shifts its meta by adding innovative mechanics that keep the gameplay fresh and engaging.
As the game transitions after the Penacony arc, preparations are underway for the launch of Honkai: Star Rail's next major planet, expected to debut in Version 3.0 next year. Even though that release is still months away, leaks have already started circulating, teasing new characters, maps, and story elements.
In one of these recent leaks, shared by the notable leaker HomDGCat on Reddit, the rumored 5-star character Aglaea is said to possess an on-field summoning ability. While the specifics of this summon are still unclear, the leak claims that Aglaea's Ultimate ability will bring forth a summon capable of acting independently, dealing lightning damage to enemies. Additionally, this summon will buff Aglaea and replenish her energy, allowing her to use her Ultimate faster. However, while enemies can target the summon, allies won't be able to heal it.
If this leak proves accurate, it would mark the first instance of an on-field summon in Honkai: Star Rail. Although characters like Topaz have companions—such as Numby—assisting them in battle, the difference lies in the fact that Topaz doesn't need to actively summon her pet. Instead, her abilities are designed to work with Numby from the start. Fans of the game are eager to learn more about how this potential summoning mechanic might function during combat. Questions have arisen over whether the summon’s actions will count as follow-up attacks or behave differently, and some have even compared it to the "trashcan mechanic" from the "Trailblaze Friendship is Magic" event, where Lordly Trashcans aided in battles.
Despite the leak mentioning the summon’s lightning damage capabilities, it doesn't necessarily confirm Aglaea as a Lightning-type character. Previous rumors suggested that Aglaea might actually be an Ice-type Destruction character, adding further intrigue to her role in the game's meta.
As Honkai: Star Rail continues to evolve with new character releases and mechanics, the meta adapts accordingly. Recent updates have seen the rise of the Super Break meta, dominated by characters like the Harmony Trailblazer and Firefly, who deal significant Break Effect damage. The introduction of on-field summons could offer players exciting new strategic opportunities, allowing them to refine their battle plans and potentially enhance the summon’s power to unleash even greater damage.
With such innovations on the horizon, Honkai: Star Rail fans have much to look forward to.
