Mortal Kombat 1 Unveils Sektor's Fatality and New Story Insights

The latest trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 reveals an exciting update for fans: the game’s reimagined version of Sektor, showcasing her deadly Fatality and her pivotal role in the upcoming Khaos Reigns story expansion. Almost a year after the initial release of Mortal Kombat 1, NetherRealm is set to debut its first story-driven DLC on September 24. Building on the cliffhanger from the base game’s campaign, Khaos Reigns introduces an alternate reality where Havok commands a multiversal army to wreak havoc across Liu Kang’s newly rebooted universe.

In line with the base game’s theme, Khaos Reigns features fresh takes on classic Mortal Kombat characters, notably the Lin Kuei cyborgs Cyrax and Sektor. These iconic characters, previously seen as Kameo fighters, are now reinvented as female assassins clad in advanced high-tech armor rather than their traditional cybernetic forms. The new trailer reveals that Sektor is not only a formidable fighter but also the daughter of Madame Bo, a retired Lin Kuei who now runs a teahouse frequented by Raiden and Kung Lao.

The trailer provides a closer look at Sektor’s combat style and advanced weaponry. Her arsenal includes missile attacks and rocket-enhanced melee strikes. Sektor’s X-Ray Move highlights her brutal fighting prowess, as she lifts her opponent into the air and delivers a barrage of punches that devastate their ribcage. Her first Fatality showcases her rocket boots as she propels her adversary into space, only to thrust them back down to Earth, burning them up during re-entry.

Sektor’s Role and New Animality in Mortal Kombat 1

Sektor’s new trailer also delves into her storyline in the Khaos Reigns DLC. Initially, she is a devoted member of Sub-Zero’s Lin Kuei clan. However, her loyalty is tested when Bi-Han vanishes into a portal while pursuing the invading Titan Havok. This event is expected to lead to Bi-Han’s transformation into Noob Saibot. In response, Sektor forms a temporary alliance with Liu Kang and his allies, aiming to protect Earthrealm and rescue her leader.

Additionally, the trailer teases Sektor’s Animality, a fan-favorite Mortal Kombat finishing move making its debut in Mortal Kombat 1 with the Khaos Reigns DLC. Sektor’s Animality features her transforming into a rhino, using her horn to impale her opponent before dragging them across the ground in a brutal finish.

Both Sektor and her Animality will be available when the Khaos Reigns DLC drops on September 24, offering players new ways to experience the intense action of Mortal Kombat 1.
