In Once Human, the game operates on a unique seasonal cycle, where each season concludes with a server wipe. Although your character retains certain items and currencies like Starchrom, blueprints, and mods, other assets are transferred to Eternaland—a persistent bubble world players can access between seasons. This includes resources, weapons, and ammunition, which can be reintroduced into the next season by "purchasing" them from Eternaland.
As a season approaches Phase Six, it’s crucial to wrap up any remaining tasks and get ready for the upcoming reset. This involves completing questlines, collecting Deviations, and amassing currency. To help you prepare effectively, here’s a comprehensive guide of everything you need to know.
At the season's end, player bases will be dismantled, with materials sent to Eternaland. To ensure you don’t lose your base design, save your base blueprint in the build menu. Disassemble any unnecessary items before the reset, as you’ll face a steep fee to transport and break down gear post-reset.
Note: If you forget to save your base blueprint, it will automatically be saved at the end of the season. However, it's uncertain if this blueprint will persist beyond one season, so it’s wise to save it separately.
Blueprints | - Save your base blueprint |
Purifications | - Complete 40 purifications per week using the highest level cortexes available |
Disassembly | - Disassemble any gear you do not plan on taking to the next season - Disassemble any weapon calibration blueprints you haven't used - Disassemble any duplicate furniture blueprints by using the Designer's Workstation |
Crafting | - Craft items you want to bring to the next season, such as pickaxes, chainsaws, or (regular) drills |
Deviations | - Deviations can be brought over, so farm for any rare Deviations you'll want in the next season, such as Rain Man or Lethal Rabbit |
Most in-game currencies will carry over between seasons. However, Energy Links and other currencies will be converted to Astral Sand (the Eternaland currency) by season’s end. To maximize your currency, make sure to:
- Spend any Energy Links before the reset.
- Convert any leftover currencies to Astral Sand, ensuring you utilize them wisely.
Energy Links | - Save then spend 390,000 Energy Links for the Season Shop Starchrom Crates - Purchase any remaining materials, items, etc. from Stronghold Shops or Vending Machines - Items to carry over to next season, such as drills or chainsaws - Items to redeem across seasons, such as furniture blueprints |
Stockpile | - Complete Season Goals, Purifications, Prime Wars, and Journey tasks to save up Starchrom - Complete Season Goals to obtain all available Mitsuko's Marks - Complete quests to obtain Stellar Planula - Complete Cargo Scrambles to save up Sproutlets |
Shop | - Purchase items from the Warband shop using Warband Credits - Purchase all eight Starchrom Crates from Severin at Strongholds using Stellar Planula - Purchase all furniture blueprints from Stronghold vendors |
Quest progress, including the option to complete quests quickly, will carry over to future seasons. It’s advantageous to finish as many quests as possible during the current season to benefit from the unlocked currencies in the next one. Additionally, locating crates, recipes, and meeting goals will give you a head start. Use gear blueprints for calibration and disassemble any duplicate furniture blueprints to make the most of your resources.
Early Season Tip: Some regions may be locked at the start of the season. Be sure to complete any location-specific events or explorations in these areas, such as Red Sands and Blackheart, before they become accessible.
Quests and Events | - Complete the Main Questline - Complete all Side Quests - Complete each Prime War once for Starchrom - Use all Extraction Permits for Workshop Defense events |
Exploration | - Find all Mystical Crates - Find all Morphic Crates - Find all Riddle Spots - Find all Food Recipes - Find all Devious Paintings |
Farming | - Farm for any primary materials you need for a jump start next season - Examples: Acid, Stardust Source, Portable Mixed Fuel/Barreled Fuel - Farm Monoliths, Silos, and Refineries for Mods or Deviations you want to carry over |
Upon selecting your new season server, you’ll be plunged back into the game world with minimal supplies and gear. Find a safe location to set up your initial territory and access the Eternaland menu. By switching to Export Resources, you can pull through items carried over from the previous season.
Resource Management: Note that importing resources is not free. Each item has a Material Points value, and you have a limited number of points available each season. Check the cost of each item carefully to avoid depleting your points on items you can’t immediately use. Start with essential tools, like a pickaxe, to begin gathering resources in your new season.
You can revisit the depot at any time, so take a gradual approach, only bringing over what you need as you need it. Remember, unused resources will be converted to Astral Sand at the season reset, so utilize all Material Points to retain anything you want to keep.
Adapting to the changing seasons in Once Human can be a bit challenging. Each server operates on its own seasonal timeline, so select your preferred scenario and difficulty early on to ensure ample time for participation. Fortunately, progression in the game is relatively swift, allowing you to quickly rebuild your base and gear for the new season.
By following these guidelines, you’ll be well-prepared for the upcoming season reset and ready to dive back into the action with a strong start.
