As the release date of December 6 approaches, anticipation is building around Marvel Rivals, the upcoming 5v5 team-based shooter from NetEase Games. This new addition to the hero shooter genre has already captured the attention of fans. However, those hoping to play it on their Nintendo Switch may be in for a letdown.
Developers have confirmed that, at present, there are no plans to bring Marvel Rivals to the Nintendo Switch. This decision, while disappointing, is not entirely surprising given the game's technical requirements. The Switch, known for its portability, is also less powerful compared to other gaming platforms, making it challenging to run high-demand games smoothly.

Marvel Rivals will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, taking full advantage of the Unreal Engine 5 to deliver stunning visuals and dynamic gameplay. The choice to focus on these platforms reflects the game's high performance and visual standards.
During a conversation with Pocket Tactics at Gamescom, game director Thaddeus Sasser was clear about the current situation: “There are no discussions” about bringing Marvel Rivals to mobile devices or the Nintendo Switch. While this news may be disappointing to some, it highlights the developers' commitment to ensuring the game runs at its best.
Despite this limitation, Marvel Rivals continues to generate excitement and positive buzz ahead of its launch. The decision to avoid a Switch version seems to be based on maintaining the game's quality and performance, which may be compromised on less powerful hardware.

For now, fans eager to experience the next big title from NetEase will need to do so on PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S. Marvel Rivals promises to deliver an authentic Marvel experience, featuring iconic characters such as Captain America, Winter Soldier, Spider-Man, and Hulk, all available from the start without the need for microtransactions.
This focus on providing a full experience without extra costs sets Marvel Rivals apart in a genre often criticized for its reliance on in-game purchases. Players can look forward to thrilling team-up moves and powerful combat scenarios that stay true to the spirit of Marvel.
While the current situation leaves Nintendo Switch owners on the sidelines, hope remains for future developments. With rumors circulating about the next generation of Nintendo consoles, tentatively called “Switch 2,” a more powerful handheld device could open the door for Marvel Rivals to make its way to portable gaming in the future.
For now, this remains speculative, as there has been no official announcement from NetEase Games regarding a potential Switch or mobile version. Until then, Marvel Rivals will continue to attract attention on the platforms where it can shine the brightest.
