Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies – How to Transform into a Mangler

The formidable Russian Mangler Soldiers, first introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, have made a triumphant return in Black Ops 6, adding a new level of challenge for players. Known for their brutal strength and firepower, Manglers serve as mini-bosses that can make even seasoned players struggle. But now, you can turn the tables by transforming into one of these undead beasts in Black Ops 6 Zombies.

Although Manglers are a bit slow and their arm cannon may present an easy target, when you become one, those weaknesses no longer matter. With their devastating power in your control, you can crush any zombie that stands in your way, helping you progress to higher rounds with ease.

How to Become a Mangler

To experience the thrill of becoming a Mangler, you'll need to get your hands on the Mutant Injection, a powerful Support Scorestreak. This rare item usually drops after defeating Manglers, along with other valuable loot like armor plates and ammunition. Here are the main ways to acquire a Mutant Injection:

- Killing Manglers

- Completing S.A.M. Challenges

- Opening safety deposit boxes in the bank vault in Liberty Falls

Alternatively, once you reach Level 39, you’ll unlock the ability to purchase a Mutant Injection from any Crafting Table on the map. Head to the Support category and buy one for 2,500 Salvage.

Using the Mangler

Once you’ve obtained a Mutant Injection, you might be wondering what happens when you use it. As soon as you activate it (by pressing Down on the D-Pad or 3 on the keyboard), you’ll begin the transformation into a Mangler and become temporarily invulnerable to all damage.

The game will switch to a third-person perspective, and you'll take on the full appearance and abilities of a Mangler, complete with their powerful arm cannon and immense strength. You’ll also see a timer at the bottom left of your screen, showing how long you have until you revert back to your regular form. When the transformation ends, you won’t have to worry about being overwhelmed by zombies, as an explosion will clear the nearby horde, giving you time to regain control.

Mangler Mode Abilities and Combat Tips

In Mangler form, you’ll wield an infinite-ammo Mangler Cannon, which can be charged to auto-target enemies or used to blast through waves of zombies by holding and releasing R2/RT/Left-Click. The cannon’s powerful shots can pierce through multiple zombies, and each kill will reward you with 50 Essence.

Additionally, using the sprint button (L3/Shift) allows you to charge through enemies with the force of a speeding train, smashing zombies with your sheer bulk and momentum. While this form is excellent for escaping dangerous situations or fending off large crowds, it’s less effective against other Manglers and Abominations. Nevertheless, it provides a valuable window of invulnerability, allowing you to deal heavy damage while staying safe.

The Mutant Injection is best used when you’re surrounded or in danger of being overrun. It offers a perfect opportunity to turn the tide in your favor, making you unstoppable for a short period and helping you fight your way through the toughest situations in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
