An unofficial remake of the iconic P.T. is now available to play on PS5, thanks to the creative platform Dreams. Although Dreams is often seen as more of a game creation tool than a traditional game, it has allowed imaginative developers to bring their own versions of popular titles to life. Being exclusive to PlayStation, Dreams has enabled players to recreate experiences that would otherwise be unavailable on the console.

For instance, a fan developed an Avatar-inspired game within Dreams, showcasing the platform’s versatility and ability to bring beloved franchises to PlayStation. Other creators have crafted their own versions of well-known titles like The Last of Us and Cyberpunk 2077. While many of these projects remain short demos or art pieces, some creators have managed to produce more complete and ambitious works.

One such creator, known as DrJones20, has finally released a full remake of the legendary P.T. within Dreams. Available on both PS4 and PS5, this remake faithfully captures the atmosphere, visuals, and gameplay of the original Silent Hills demo, albeit with some graphical adjustments due to Dreams' engine constraints. The remake even attempts to replicate the appearance of Norman Reedus, who starred in the original teaser. This project builds upon DrJones20’s earlier P.T. demo and was completed with the help of collaborators APE_MONKEY_BOY21 and LuciferSainttt.

How Close Does the Dreams Version of P.T. Match the Original?

According to the Dreams page, this P.T. remake has been played 1,869 times by 1,339 players since its release on September 5, 2024. Players have praised the remake for its authenticity, especially the audio that closely mirrors the original. Notably, this version also supports VR, adding a new layer of immersion and fear to the experience. It includes additional Easter eggs and a development gallery, making it feel like a definitive version of P.T. for many fans. Some even consider it one of the best creations ever made within Dreams.

With the original P.T. being trapped on PS4 due to its delisting, this Dreams recreation offers the next best opportunity for players to relive the chilling experience that could have redefined Silent Hill. The original P.T. was a groundbreaking demo that inspired a wave of horror games, with titles like Resident Evil 7 drawing clear influence from its design. This Dreams remake allows both PS4 and PS5 players to explore what made P.T. so legendary, keeping its eerie legacy alive for a new audience.
