Monopoly Go: Exciting Marvel Crossover Event Coming Soon!

In an exciting new collaboration, Monopoly Go! is set to feature some of Marvel’s most iconic superheroes, including Spider-Man, Wolverine, Deadpool, and the Avengers, in an upcoming in-game event. The crossover, which begins on September 26, will bring beloved characters from the Marvel universe into the popular mobile game, creating a unique and thrilling experience for players.

Scopely, the developer behind Monopoly Go!, promises an event filled with action and adventure that will appeal to both Monopoly fans and Marvel enthusiasts alike. The event will merge the charm and creativity of Monopoly Go! with the heroic elements of Marvel, resulting in what the company describes as “a fantastical new experience.”

According to the event’s storyline, Dr. Lizzie Bell, the lead inventor in Monopoly Go!, accidentally stumbles upon a portal that connects the game world with the Marvel universe. As a result, players will be thrust into a captivating adventure that brings these two beloved franchises together. While full details are yet to be revealed, Scopely has hinted that more information will be shared before the event kicks off.

Since its release in April 2023, Monopoly Go! has achieved incredible success, surpassing $3 billion in revenue. Players have passed “Go” over 120 billion times, completed more than 5 billion boards, and have landed in jail 15 billion times, according to Scopely’s data.

This Marvel crossover isn’t the first collaboration between Scopely and Marvel Games. The two previously joined forces for Marvel Strike Force, a mobile roleplaying game that has racked up over a billion hours of gameplay.

Eric Wood, Scopely’s senior vice president of publishing, shared the backstory of how the partnership came to be. “When I first reached out to Marvel, I wasn’t sure how they would respond because, traditionally, they’ve been more involved in action-based games like RPGs or card battles,” Wood explained in an interview with Variety. “But Marvel was open to exploring something different. As we discussed more ideas, both teams became increasingly excited about how we could bring these two universes together in a fresh, unexpected way.”

Monopoly Go! general manager Massimo Maietti also emphasized the potential of this collaboration. “Monopoly Go! offers so many minigames and features that can perfectly showcase Marvel’s vast universe, weaving in familiar storylines, humorous moments, and hidden character details,” Maietti said. “Whether you’re a longtime Marvel fan or new to Monopoly, this event has something for everyone.”

With the promise of familiar faces, exciting gameplay, and plenty of surprises, this Monopoly Go! and Marvel crossover is sure to captivate players when it launches.
