After a decade-long hiatus on seventh-generation consoles, Lollipop Chainsaw is back, now remastered for modern platforms under the "RePop" banner. This Suda51 classic follows cheerleader Juliet Starling on her 18th birthday as her celebration is upended by a zombie apocalypse, compelling her to fend off the undead with her trusty chainsaw.
The game has garnered a dedicated fanbase over the years, thanks in part to Suda51's continued popularity and the rising fame of writer James Gunn, known for his work on the Guardians of the Galaxy films. Enthusiasts of their work will be excited to revisit this collaborative project, but just how long will it take to slice through hordes of zombies with Juliet?
Lollipop Chainsaw: RePop is, fittingly, a brief yet exhilarating experience. According to HowLongToBeat, you can expect to spend approximately six hours battling waves of zombies before the credits roll.
While this may seem brief, it aligns with the design philosophy of Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture, known for crafting games that offer quick, engaging experiences. Similar titles include No More Heroes (11 hours), Killer Is Dead (seven hours), and Shadows of the Damned (eight and a half hours).
If you're aiming to achieve 100% completion in Lollipop Chainsaw: RePop, be prepared for a more extended playthrough. Completing all aspects of the game will take you over 17 hours, nearly tripling the time needed to finish the main campaign. The remastered version also features a more accessible trophy list compared to the original, making it an appealing challenge for completionists eager to collect every digital accolade.
