Pathea Games is set to launch My Time at Evershine, the latest installment in the popular My Time series, and will kick off a Kickstarter campaign at the end of September to support its development. This new entry continues the tradition of blending life simulation with RPG and building mechanics, much like its predecessors, My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock.
Despite having only two previous games, the My Time series has achieved multi-million sales. Released in 2019, My Time at Portia received over 33,000 reviews on Steam, boasting a "Very Positive" rating. Its success paved the way for its sequel, which refined the original’s gameplay and introduced sought-after features, such as the popular multiplayer mode seen in My Time at Sandrock. Pathea Games has confirmed that My Time at Evershine will also include a multiplayer mode right from the start.
The announcement of My Time at Evershine was accompanied by a reveal trailer that showcased several exciting gameplay enhancements. Unlike the previous games, where players focused on building and improving towns, My Time at Evershine introduces a new role for the protagonist: Governor. Players will still be hands-on with construction but will also need to oversee and delegate tasks to NPCs, managing the town’s growth and development.
For the first time in the series, My Time at Evershine will offer a cooperative mode, allowing up to four players to experience the main storyline together. The beloved romance system from My Time at Sandrock will return, featuring up to ten potential love interests. To help bring these ambitious plans to life, Pathea Games will launch a Kickstarter campaign on September 24, aiming to secure additional funding to ensure the game’s production remains on track.
Zifei Wu, the creative director behind the My Time series, noted that My Time at Sandrock had a development cost of around $12 million and speculated that My Time at Evershine would require a similar budget. Wu believes that early-stage funding will be crucial for achieving the game’s full potential. Reflecting on the previous game’s Early Access launch, Wu highlighted how it provided valuable financial flexibility during development.
While a release date for My Time at Evershine has yet to be announced, the game is slated for launch on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch’s successor console. Stay tuned for updates as the Kickstarter campaign progresses and more details about the game’s development emerge.
