Baldur's Gate 3: Larian Confirms More Updates Ahead After Patch 7

Baldur's Gate 3 recently received its significant Patch 7, which introduced a range of new features, enhancements, and built-in mod support. However, fans eager for more need not worry, as Larian Studios has assured that this update is not the last.

Patch 7 was initially labeled by some media outlets as the "final major update" for the game. This impression stemmed from Larian's own notes, which mentioned, "We’ve still got a few more patches up our sleeve for Baldur’s Gate 3, including crossplay and photo mode, along with other fixes and updates. But eventually, all stories must come to an end."

During last week’s PAX West panel in Seattle—the last live event dedicated to Baldur's Gate 3—Larian’s Swen Vincke hinted at a shift in focus, stating, "It’s time for the team to return to our cave and hang up our armor while we concentrate on our next project."

Despite this, Larian swiftly clarified the situation in a follow-up tweet: "Patch 7 is not our final update. Crossplay is still being worked on!"

Michael Douse, Larian's publishing chief, also chimed in on the matter, tweeting, "Good news, kids—it's not the final update."

Douse elaborated, "We aren’t going to reveal what's next because it adds unnecessary pressure on our developers. However, there are still features we promised that are coming, and the chefs must cook."
