Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been brought into the physical world through a series of delightful LEGO sets, each capturing the charm of the beloved game. There are eight sets available, each featuring a building or location and one or more adorable Animal Crossing minifigures. While these sets share a common theme, they aren't designed to fit together seamlessly—yet one imaginative fan found a way to do just that.
Reddit user johnschlemmer ingeniously combined all the Animal Crossing LEGO sets to create a stunning rectangular island. According to johnschlemmer, arranging the layout took some trial and error, but the end result is a vibrant, cohesive town that feels naturally integrated.
This creative builder placed LEGO minifigures of popular Animal Crossing: New Horizons characters in logical locations: K.K. Slider and Isabelle can be seen near the Plaza, while Kapp'n is found in his boat by the shore. The thoughtfully crafted town makes it seem as if these individual sets were always meant to come together in this harmonious way.
The first six Animal Crossing LEGO sets were released on March 1, 2024, offering a mix of villager homes and iconic locations like Nook’s Cranny and Kapp’n’s Island Boat Tour. Two additional sets arrived on August 1, featuring the Plaza and Dodo Airlines, two staple locations on any player’s island. Each set ranges from 170 to 550 pieces, with the exception of the smaller Maple's Pumpkin Garden, which contains just 29 pieces. These sets include beloved Animal Crossing villagers, such as Audie the wolf and Rosie the cat, much to the delight of fans.
In his impressive island build, johnschlemmer used only pieces from the official Animal Crossing LEGO sets, with one exception: the four 32x32 baseplates that serve as the foundation. At the heart of the island is the Town Hall, fittingly placed, surrounded by houses, trees, and other decorative elements. Johnschlemmer mentioned that the setup was made "for the kids to play with at their table," but many commenters admitted they would love to join in the fun themselves, even as adults.
Creating the perfect island layout is a challenge familiar to many Animal Crossing: New Horizons players, making this LEGO version even more impressive. With the possibility of more sets being added to the collection, this LEGO town may soon need to expand to accommodate new additions.
