When diving into Visions of Mana, you’ll be prompted to select a difficulty level from four options: Beginner, Easy, Normal, and Hard. But what if you want to adjust the challenge as you progress? Here’s everything you need to know about changing difficulty and what each level entails.

Yes, you can modify the difficulty level during your playthrough of Visions of Mana. However, this change isn’t possible during battle sequences. You’ll need to wait until you’re past the prologue and have control of Val, the game’s main hero.
To adjust the difficulty, access the main menu and navigate to the Options. There, you’ll find a difficulty slider located under the Language Settings in the Game Settings section.

Visions of Mana offers four difficulty settings: Beginner, Easy, Normal, and Hard. The core differences are as follows:
- Damage: On higher difficulties, enemies will inflict more damage, and your attacks will be less effective.
- Combat: Playing on Hard mode will extend the time needed to defeat both bosses and regular monsters.
Thus, choosing Hard mode will significantly increase the challenge and time required to progress through the game.

For trophy hunters concerned about unlocking achievements tied to difficulty levels, there’s good news. Although there’s a trophy related to defeating a specific boss on Hard mode, you do not need to complete the entire game on Hard to earn it.
The trophy in question is The Spawn of Calamity, awarded for defeating Aeve Zalaha on Hard mode. Overall, Visions of Mana features 45 trophies/achievements to collect.
With this information, you can tailor your experience in Visions of Mana to your preferred level of challenge and still aim for those coveted trophies.
