Nintendo Switch players are in for a treat as more Five Nights at Freddy's content is set to arrive. During the latest Nintendo Direct event, it was announced that two spinoff titles, Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 and Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach - Ruin, will be released on the Switch. These games will be available in a single bundle, offering fans of the horror franchise the chance to experience them on the Switch for the first time this holiday season.
The Five Nights at Freddy's franchise has become a significant name in horror gaming since its debut as an indie title in 2014. What began as a PC game quickly expanded into a series of sequels that eventually made their way to consoles. Along with the spinoff Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted and the base Security Breach game, many of the main series games are already playable on the Nintendo Switch.
The announcement of the two-game bundle came during the August 27 Nintendo Direct event, where a brief trailer showcased footage from both titles and confirmed a holiday 2024 release window. Originally launched as a VR minigame collection, Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 will be making its way to the Switch as a traditional first-person game. Meanwhile, Security Breach - Ruin is a sequel DLC to the original Security Breach, marking its debut on the Switch.
Though Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted was initially released as a virtual reality experience, it later became accessible to all players with a non-VR version, ensuring fans could enjoy the game regardless of their hardware. Help Wanted 2 followed suit, receiving an update that allowed it to be played without a VR headset, and this is the version that will be ported to the Switch.
FNAF: Security Breach offers a classic horror experience, placing players in the roles of two children trapped in an abandoned indoor amusement park, where they must evade terrifying animatronic creatures. This game was later expanded with a free DLC titled FNAF: Security Breach - Ruin, which continued the story and introduced multiple endings, further deepening the gameplay experience.
The Five Nights at Freddy's universe continues to expand, as fans were recently introduced to a new game, Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit, which brings back the series' traditional survival horror elements. Additionally, fans can look forward to an exciting crossover with Dead by Daylight, set to release sometime next year.
