Developer Digital Extremes has revealed more details for its upcoming fantasy MMO, Soulframe, including customization features, new magical abilities, combat, and more. The Warframe developer made these revelations during TennoCon 2024, offering a closer look at what players can expect from Soulframe.

Soulframe is a free-to-play MMORPG set to release in late 2024. The game will take a different step from Warframe's fast-paced action and promises a slower combat style focused on dodging, parrying, and a variety of combat mechanics and spells. Soulframe will take players into a fantasy world influenced by themes of nature, restoration, and exploration, where they will assume the role of an Envoy in a world disrupted by the corrupt group known as the Ode. The game will feature procedural dungeons, environmental interactions, and different abilities. Currently, Soulframe is in an invite-only closed alpha called Soulframe Preludes.

Among the Soulframe revelations during the recent TennoCon 2024, developer Digital Extremes introduced Warsongs Prologue, the first narrative thread of Soulframe, which offers a glimpse into the world, characters, and creatures players will encounter. In previous Soulframe revelations, it was disclosed that players will take on the role of "envoys" in the game. Now this prologue sets the stage for the game's story, where players will work to heal the Ode curse and restore forgotten culture and memories to the beings of Alca. Moreover, the demo showcased an interesting approach to choices and character design.
