In The Sims 4, adding an Orchid Plant to your garden is essential for players aiming to make Ambrosia, obtain a Death Flower, or complete their collection of plants. While many plants are easily available from seed packets, some require more advanced gardening techniques, such as grafting.

Orchids fall into this category, meaning players will need to go through a few extra steps to cultivate this rare plant. This guide will walk you through the steps needed to grow Orchids in The Sims 4.

To acquire an Orchid, players first need to plant both a Snapdragon and a Lily. Wait until both plants reach maturity. Once they’ve grown, select one and use the "Take a Cutting" option, which unlocks at Gardening Skill Level 5. Then, interact with the other plant and choose the "Graft" option to combine them.
After grafting, the plant will need time to grow and produce new flowers. However, for those looking to speed up the process, cheats can be used to advance the plant’s growth. To do this, activate cheats in The Sims 4, access the Pie Cheat Menu, and set the plant's growth stage to “blooming.”

Since Lilies flourish in the summer and Snapdragons grow during spring and fall, consider building a greenhouse to grow them year-round. This will ensure that your plants thrive no matter the season.
The spliced plant will yield Snapdragons, Lilies, and eventually, Orchids. However, patience may be required as it can take some time before the first Orchid appears.

Once your spliced plant produces an Orchid, you can harvest it and then plant it directly in your garden. This will yield a dedicated Orchid plant, which will only produce Orchids instead of a mix of different flowers. Orchid plants bloom in winter and spring, ensuring a steady supply of Orchids each season.
For players looking to expand their garden further, a similar method can be used with Apples and Cherries to cultivate a Pomegranate tree.
