On August 29, Sea of Stars celebrated its first anniversary. The retro-inspired RPG garnered strong critical acclaim at launch, with many reviewers praising its stunning pixel art, enchanting world, and nostalgic gameplay elements. Currently, it holds a "Mighty" rating on OpenCritic, reflecting an impressive aggregate score of 89 and a remarkable 97% recommendation rate from reviewers, solidifying its status as one of the top-rated games of 2023.

What to Expect from the Dawn of Equinox Update

The eagerly awaited Dawn of Equinox update, scheduled to launch on November 12, promises to enhance the beloved RPG further. Feedback from players has significantly shaped the content of this update. Notably, it will introduce a co-op mode that allows up to three players to explore the Sea of Stars universe together.

In addition to the co-op mode, the update will revamp the combat system. A new Mystery Lock mechanic will challenge players to discover ways to counter enemy spells with each new adversary they face, adding a layer of strategic depth to battles.
