Rocksteady Studios has revealed the addition of a seventh playable character in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, welcoming Zoey Lawton, also known as Lawless, to the chaotic crew. Season 3 is set to launch on October 1, and Lawless' introduction is just one of the exciting updates players can expect.
Initially, the game's roster featured Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, King Shark, and Deadshot, each with distinct playstyles. With each new season, a fresh character has joined the ranks, with the Joker and Mr. Freeze being added in the first and second seasons, respectively.
The announcement of Lawless joining the team was made via the game’s official Twitter account on September 26. She is introduced as the youngest daughter of Michelle Torres and Deadshot, making her comic debut in the first issue of Deadshot Volume 2 released in 2005.
Over the years, various iterations of Lawton have appeared in the DC multiverse, but she has remained somewhat of a mystery, with limited attention from writers. This makes her a lesser-known character, recognized mainly by dedicated fans of the comic series. Interestingly, the Twitter announcement refers to her with a variant spelling of her name, using "Zoey" instead of the usual "Zoe."
Some fans had speculated about Lawless' addition to the game long before its initial release in February. Leaker Miller Ross had accurately predicted in January that the first four DLC characters for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League would be the Joker, Mr. Freeze, Lawless, and Deathstroke. With Lawless' confirmation, the focus now shifts to Deathstroke, while characters Killer Croc and Katana are slated for release in 2025.
If the pattern established in the first two seasons continues, Season 3 will likely introduce new maps and story content that transports the team to another realm, where they will encounter Lawless and welcome her into the fold. While details about the Season 3 content remain scarce, fan reactions to Lawless’ announcement have been mixed, with many eager for the addition of the more renowned character, Deathstroke, to the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League roster.
